A peaceful retreat in Aberdeenshire near Ellon
Set in rolling farmland not too far from the coast this spacious cottage offers a quiet retreat with a wonderful view. We were fascinated by the harvesting of the cereals and by the wildlife. We didn’t have binoculars but there were definitely some birds of prey and geese. The cottage was well equipped. We would highly recommend

Absolute tranquility
This was our 5th stay and we love it. It’s so peaceful and has everything you could need. Allan, the host, is great at keeping in touch and always available if needed. Fully recommended for those who love walking and the peace and quiet. But close enough to Aberdeen and other surrounding town. Close to the Brewdog bar and restaurant at Ellon which allows dogs and lovely food.

Stunning country views
A beautiful well furnished private cottage with an open plan layout, providing a perfect family space for dining and spending time together. Each room was well sized and complimented with 3 bathrooms and luxurious bedding, enabling a restful stay. The centrepiece must be the stunning views, enjoyed from the living room with windows opening straight out into the enclosed garden – a delight on a bright sunny day, but equally enjoyed by the warmth of the indoor fire when the Scottish weather pours down! Allan was also very friendly and communicative accommodating us with our request.

Clean, well equipped with all mod cons , a lovely big garden with wonderful views , very comfortable and unbelievably peaceful, this was my second visit and I will definitely be back again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I highly recommend staying here.

Love this place. So peaceful!
This is our 4 Christmas and new year here and we love it. It is so peaceful and perfect for walking or just cosying up either the log fire and watching films! Aberdeen is just 30 mins away which suits us. The house has everything you could need and Alan is very accommodating. Thank you again for letting us stay

Best of both Worlds
This property is even more stunning in person than in the photos. Beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see, including distant views of the sea! Incredibly peaceful but really convenient for the nearby village of Ellon, a giant Tesco (10 minutes away) and only half hour drive to Aberdeen. The host was so thoughtful leaving us supplies for a cup of tea after a long journey. Everything you could possibly need has been considered from a hairdryer and towels to a washing machine. A superb place to escape. A light, open space with modern facilities that you won't want to leave. We are very likely to come back again in the future!

Super family accommodation
Myself and my husband visited with my father in law and 3 young children. We have family around Aberdeen and wanted somewhere to base ourselves whilst we visited them. Absolute peace and tranquility!!
This is our 3rd Christmas/new year at the house and we love it. It’s so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of lovely walks and only 30 mins to Aberdeen city. It is rural but only 10 mins to the local town and Tesco which is great. The house has everything we could need including the Christmas tree! The kitchen is even stocked with the basic essentials which is great. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing escape!

Beautiful, modern cottage in a peaceful location
My wife and two children had a wonderful stay here mid-August. Couldn’t be happier a d turned out better than the photos give credit. Modern and clean with a polite and courteous owner, it made for a peaceful and happy week for us all. The view is to die for but if you want to venture out you have everything on your doorstep, with Ellon only 5-6 miles away with two huge superstores in the area as well as local amenities. Would definitely stay again!

Ideal holiday getaway
Came here for some peace and quiet and was not disappointed! Wonderful setting and we enjoyed the company of the sheep and cows in the neighbouring field. The house itself is first class, spacious, sparkly clean, with quality fittings and furniture and every home comfort. Very comfortable beds. Good area around house for parking and playing with the dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Absolutely perfect!
The property is beautifully kept and very clean and modern. Also reliably warm which is great in the Northeast of Scotland. It is the perfect location for the things we wanted to do, such as long walks in the the dunes and winter swimming and being away from people. We all loved the place, felt at home and relaxed immediately and would definitely return if we get a chance. Thank you very much Allan!

Excellent property ideal for families, Booked pre-covid so should have been 6 of us not just 2. Great acoustic in bathroom for music lovers. Neighbours, mainly sheep liked to stop by every now and then. Only negative and this is only our opinion, no out door furniture to enjoy the fabulous views. But will definitely be back.

Peace and tranquility!
This is our second stay at the property and it’s just perfect for us. The property is lovely with big open plan spaces so lots of room for everyone. Yet still cosy with the log burning fire which is so lovely in the evenings. The location is fantastic with views across fields and just sheep for neighbours!! We went for some walks locally and also to Cruden Bay which is beautiful. You feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere yet it’s only 10 mins to Ellon and just 30 mins to Aberdeen. We had everything we needed and Allen even put up a Christmas tree and decorations along with some treats which is so thoughtful. We would thoroughly recommend this property and I hope we can go again soon.

Wide open spaces and views
Fantastic welcome, superbly clean and tidy and perfectly furnished. Amazing spaces and views both inside and outside the property. Loads of cycling on wee country lanes, long walks along cliff tops and nature reserve with outstanding wildlife, wildflowers and seabirds, swimming in Cruden Bay, friendly chats with farmers. Big supermarket locally in Ellon. It didn’t matter that the weather was iffy we were outside all the time.
