When I booked our room I requested a room on the top floor so that we would not have to hear people above us moving around. I received a text back saying they would be happy to accommodate. I checked in and was given a room on the top floor=happy. I took the keycard to get into the room and I entered a room that was already occupied! This was frightening and embarrassing! I don’t like that I was able to freely enter someone’s room. Makes me concerned that other mistakes could happen that would jeopardize my family’s safety. I went back to the front desk and told them what had happened. They blamed another clerk, said our name was similar to the ones that were in the room, and then gave us another room on a lower floor. No apology given and we had noisy people over us, which is what I was trying to avoid by requesting a top floor room. Overall the hotel was ok, but this experience has left a bad taste behind. It is unsettling that I was able to gain access to someone else’s room due to the lack of competency of the front desk staff.
