We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Galini and would return any time our travels take us back to Crete.
The house is very much as shown on the pictures. Beautiful all new construction and very comfortably and stylishly furnished. There is ample space for a family of 4 (we have 2 teenagers) but the house is laid out to accommodate 6 if you're OK with 2 sleeping on the living room sofas which are large and comfortable enough for that purpose.
Equipment leaves nothing to be desired for either. You will have a fully equipped kitchen so can do reasonable cooking for a 4-6 people family, a washing machine and air-conditioning if needed (we used it sparingly at night when the wind was too strong to leave the windows open). On the terrace there also is a gas BBQ. Furnishings on the terrace allow you to either lounge at the beautiful pool or have an al-fresco meal - the table is a bit small for a full-blown outdoor dining experience but if you're happy with serving food inside and stepping outside to eat, it's wonderful and allows you to enjoy the stunning view over the hills/mountains down to the sea.
The location is great if you prefer the quiet and don't mind driving 10-15 min to get to the beaches, dining or shopping. Southern Crete doesn't seem to be the most touristy part of the island, so if you like to step out of your accommodation and be right in the center of the hustle and bustle, this is not the place for you. If however you enjoy quiet, nature, beautiful uncrowded beaches with wonderful cristal clear water and small tavernas with great local food, this is a wonderful place to spend a vacation.
The owner and the manager were extremely friendly and helpful with anything that we asked for. Service with the rental included a quick cleaning and change of towels, bathrobes and linens every 3 days as well as pool cleaning.
