Quiet Thanksgiving Get-away
Was familiar with the area as owned hunting land just north of Ross Lake for 13 years. Did not know about this quiet little lake. Very well-maintained, well-equipped year-round cabin / home. Was especially cold during our stay, but cabin heated up very nicely. Lake maybe not visible during summer months as per other reviews, but great view in the winter! Great location from which to head to Crosby, Cross Lake, Emily & Outing. The kitchen was well equipped for our meal preparation. A very enjoyable trip.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
This was a great cabin for a short weekend getaway from the Twin Cities. A quiet cabin off the lake, we saw deer and lots of birds. We heard moose and other animals across lake. The sunrise over the lake was beautiful. The owner Dave was highly responsive and super friendly. Highly recommend this place for your next getaway!

Wonderful place and fun fishing
The place was great. Had everything you needed. My son loves to fish so we spent a lot of time on the pontoon. We caught a ton of fish, and kept 10 for a meal. A limetless supply of 7-10in Perch, smaller Bass, Bullhead, and a few nice Sunfish. The house is secluded and peaceful, and we only saw 2 other boats on the lake during our entire stay.

Great Rental
This was a great rental. The cabin has lots of space, the lake is a bit weedy by the dock but we took the pontoon out and swam/floated in the lake. The swimming platform was so fun for the kids to jump off of. The best well stocked rental we have EVER stayed in. Extra towels, bedding, kitchen was amazing. Very private yet not too far from town if you needed anything. Dave was a great host, provided all information needed and ideas of what to do in the area as well.

A great value in a peaceful spot
The property is as advertised on a very quite lake. We really enjoyed the pontoon boat watching the wildlife with pelicans, swans, and loons adding to the wooded beauty with no other boats. Fishing was mostly perch and catfish along with one Northern. A wet spring made the mosquitoes challenging but all the more reason to be on the boat in the lake with a breeze. Beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked. Definitely a great spot not far from the Twin Cities.

The outdoor space was beautiful and had ample room for the kids to run and play. The host was very easy to reach about any question we had and made sure we enjoyed our time while we were there. Good experience
This is very much as shown in the pictures. It is very secluded, which is nice. I had a few questions before and during my stay and David was very responsive and helpful. The lake is small but the pontoon is nice and clean. It ran well, no problems with starting or anything. We didn't use the raft but it looked fine. The steps down to the lake are longer than I thought, but the slope (or grade) is very gentle so that’s very nice. The kitchen is well stocked with just about any pot or pan you could need. Knives were the only downside of the kitchen. There are a lot of knives, so there may be a good one, but we didn’t find any. He has a very thorough listing of what to bring, which he emails to you before your stay. It was really helpful. In general, everything was in good shape, clean and not worn out. An exception is the mattress in the downstairs bedroom. Our son said it was the worst mattress he ever slept in, and he’s slept in some 3rd world countries. The bed down there and couch were fine and that’s where they slept the other nights and left the big bed to a 4 year old. The only other negative was the grill. It wouldn’t start and it turned out the drip pan was full and needed to be emptied. It wasn’t clear how to empty this and my husband tipped the pan which spilled greasy, watery junk on my husband’s shirt and a lot on the patio floor. The floor was easy to wipe up, I don’t have the stain off my husband’s shirt yet after 2 cleanings.

Great get away
The cabin was exactly as advertised in the opportunity do use. The pontoon was a pretty fantastic thing. Just love being out water for a spin around the lake or to drop a few lines and catch some fish. Appreciated the space, quietness and the owners timely response on any questions we had. Our family enjoyed the time we had here it would definitely recommend it.

Great remote getaway
Took a family trip with my wife, father, sister and kids. The property worked great for what we needed and given when we booked it. If I had any critiques it would be the distance from town and other attractions (although this was very clearly communicated upfront), And the lake was quite small but the pontoon was a great amenity and ultimately the selling point. Very clean and great communication with the owner. Would recommend for sure

A Fun Week in MN
We rented this lake house for a week while we visited my brother who lives in Aitkin. Our group included 5 adults and 4 kids and the variety of sleeping arrangements on the main floor, basement and loft worked really well for us. We made use of all the boats and also did some swimming in the clear water. There is no beach access but we used a boat to ferry swimmers out to the swimming platform and that worked fine. The house and property were exactly "as advertised" and everything in the house worked and was in good repair.

Not a fishing lake and no lake views
This is a beautiful cabin and I would recommend if you are not looking to fish or expect a lake view when you are not on the dock. Host clearly takes pride in the home but there are signs all over the home that make it feel a bit less welcoming. I understand the reason for the signs, it’s just la bit much. Would suggest a book with rules and also offer suggestions for nearby amenities etc. I’m sure the host will post something to make my review seem unreasonable- I wish I would have noticed that trend in the reviews before I booked.
