The hotel claimed to be non-smoking, but there was an obvious smell of cigarettes, and what appeared to be cigarette burns in the comforter. My partner and I were only there for one night, but any longer and we would've spoken up. There was also trash under the bed, the doors were difficult to shut (got jammed), and overall there was a lack of cleanliness. The workers were alright, but I'm sure they're aware of the issues and just choose not to do anything.

It was a decent hotel. There were several maintenance issues like a loose wall outlet that the AC was plugged into (the outlet was able to be pulled out of the wall, exposing the wires on the back side), the toilet had a very weak flushing action (would not survive Taco Tuesday), there were obvious cleanliness hits on the fittings, electric cords, and mirrors. The room was serviceable but the outlet is a glaring maintenance issue. I saw a maintenance crew performing work on the concrete sidewalks around the building so I'm hopeful the work will continue with the rooms as well.

We chose this hotel as an immediate family member is in the hospital and we needed to stay close by. However, when we asked for more towels we were told they couldn’t give us any. The light about the sink didn’t work, the outlets were so worn that anything you plugged in fell right out, and the toilet had to be flushed 3-4 times to get anything to go down. I used to stay here whenever I had to be in Albany and always had a wonderful experience; however, this location needs major improvements before getting my business again. This was a huge waste of money.

GUYS! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! SHOW NO RESPECT TO DOGS & THEIR OWNERS!!! I’ve stayed at many Red Roof Hotels in NY and New England mostly because of their dog friendly policies and also convenient locations. I’ve usually had good experiences with OTHER Red Roof Hotels. HOWEVER, this Red Roof is so far the most disappointing place ever because of the fact that they have EXTREMELY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE and also this place SHOWS NO RESPECT to dogs and their owners despite the Red Roof Chain is self claimed to be great for dogs. The front desk employee is a skinny young guy with darker skin tone. As soon as I walked towards the counter, he gave me a cold irritated look and scolded me that I needed to wait for my turn. As he was helping the guest in front of me, he looked over from the counter and asked my name. This was very unprofessional because he wasn’t even done with helping the other guest. When I was checking in, I told him we have a dog. He became VERY VERY VERY RUDE AND HARSH to me. He asked me, “ How big is your dog? “ I said, “He’s about 70lbs.” He continued to interrogate me and said, “How big is he ? Show me!” I said, “ You guys have a policy that dogs under 80lbs can stay and my dog is not over the limit.” He showed extreme aggression to me and said, “Just let you know if your dog causes trouble, you could be made vacant ( be evacuated). Much better!
Ive been staying at this hotel for years whenever I had an early morning flight from ALB. For the last few years it was going down hill . Seems they got new management (?) and the property is greatly improved. No more trash in the parking lot or stairway. Room was spotless. Front staff was helpful and friendly.
