Rustic outside, cute and colorful inside, this cozy vacation home is located in the private, amenity filled community of Towamensing Trails with 24-hour security patrols. Tree filled property feels like you are the only one on the mountain, yet you’re a short drive to major area attractions like Jim Thorpe, Pocono Speedway, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, white water rafting, world class paint ball, fishing, casinos, and night life at Split Rock.

Comfortably furnished and decorated, you will feel your tensions float away as you relax in front of the brick fireplace. The house sleeps 6 in three double beds. Bed linens are provided. The well-appointed kitchen includes the customary dishes, silverware, microwave, pots and pans, but also has a coffee pot, toaster, air pot, electric beaters and crock pot. Enjoy cable TV and wi-fi, including premium channels. Or use the home’s game, book and movie collection.

Four seasons of relaxation and fun! In winter, snow sports are a short drive away. In spring, enjoy the beautiful mountain blooms while you shoot hoops on the basketball court, play tennis or romp with the kids in the children’s playground. In summer, bring the family to the outdoor pool, kiddie pool, or white sand beach on the 192 acre stocked lake (PA fishing license req'd) where canoes and paddleboats are available for rental. Rustic cabin weekend
The cabin was nice. Great location and friendly neighborhood. Beds were the worst part, none were comfortable and saw better days. Redeeming aspect was the shower water pressure, very pleased. Overall worth the money and great host!

The cottage had 9 air fresheners.. Some rooms had 2 types in it. The smell was horrible. The surfaces on tables were not cleaned and in our bedsheets were specks of brown debris..

We were never given the badges we needed to get into the community area, ie. pool and beach. This badge also allowed us to drop off the garbage at the end of our stay, but we were told we could just leave the bagged garbage in the kitchen, which worked. The grill was a charcoal grill and rusty.

We wanted a no frills cabin in the woods and we got one at a great cost. No issues. No complaints. I know from experience the development has rigid guidelines about how to dispose of trash (you need to bring it to their designated area); all parking and trash passes were there upon arrival. I would book again.

Well, it was pretty much as anticipated. There is a reason it’s a good $200 less then other places in the area. Regardless, it was what I expected. However, there was some toilet paper (I had to get my own), WiFi (trouble connecting initially), a lack of trash bags (had to use a shopping bag) and Parking pass issues. Also, the deck and stairs were covered in ice and snow. I was only there for a night, for an event, so it was a short stay and they weren’t ‘serious’ issues for me, but they might be for you. Also, remember, bed linens are included but towels are not, including kitchen hand towels. Overall, Bob (the owner) was easy to talk to and quick to reply. It was a little creaky and basic, but it was warm with good hot water in an excellent location.

Definitely visit Jim Thorpe- only a 20 min drive. During the winter at night this quaint little city decorates nicely for Christmas. The cabin house could use renovations but it’s cleanliness & easy to use fireplace made up for it. We liked the privacy between neighbors. Our cell phones did not work well here which we didn’t mind at all. If you’re looking for quiet, secluded & don’t mind old- this is the place for city folks to unwind :-)

This was our second winter stay and we loved it! The house is warm and cozy. Very much a home away from home. The owners communicate very well and are available through text if needed. We will stay here again during the summer months.

Could have been better communication
Did not mention that you cannot flush anything down toilet until we arrived. Had to bag all human waste. Washer flooded downstairs bathroom, and when asked if we would like a technician to come out to fix immediately we said yes. Never heard back so we had to only have 1 bathroom for the entire stay.

Fun for families
I spent the weekend with my mother, daughter and 2 nephews (Age ranges 8-66) and we were all comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The area is beautiful and we saw many deer up close. The development is very large. We got lost finding some of the amenities but that is not the owner's fault.

Never Again!!
The grounds are not taken care of grass is tall. The deck around the house is rotten the banisters are coming apart. The front door is not level we had snails getting in under it. The beds are horrible stove only have works .The inside is musty smelling no A/C fans in rooms only have worked. Windows are dirty cob webs throughout the house.

The pool, lake beach and other amenities is what drew us to this listing. The house was alright. The deck is in sore need of repair and a few other odds and ends need fixing. Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

What a miserable property. There’s no AC, the refrigerator doesn’t cool anything and the freezer doesn’t freeze or keep anything frozen, the deck boards near the front door are about to bust, the mattresses are lumpy and old, it smells like musty mildew, you have to use all of your weight to open the front door, there are cobwebs everywhere, the fans in the bedrooms don’t blow air, the yard is unkempt, it’s the eyesore of the neighborhood, and the pool is a mile away. Sorry to be so negative, but it really is a miserable place. I can’t believe it has good reviews. Eventually, we will be able to laugh about this place…

The neighborhood was very quite. Deer everywhere! NO AIR CONDITIONING !!!!! The advertisement: sleep 6 - there were three double beds!! two adults can not sleep in a double bed! Floor was dirty, my wife mopped the floor before she would walk on with socks. The deck does not look like the picture in the Ad. Deck has loose boards & failing support boards underneath. Water draining against the cabin foundation, rot will take over in about a year if not addressed! yard was not maintained to walk the dog around. Did not like that I booked through Expedia but the owner sent me 12 pages of rules, fines and forms to fill out before we could stay there. If I did not fill out the forms i could not get my money back !!!!!!! They got my money before I knew that I have to fill out forms to stay. I will not stay at this listing again!!!!! NOT AS ADVERTIZED !!!!

Beautiful Place
This was a really great quiet, relaxing get away. The house is set in a beautiful area with deer 24/7!! They walk around and aren't the least bit afraid. The area is quiet and the mountains are so beautiful. The house itself is very welcoming. I felt like I was at home, not in a rental property at all. I highly recommend this property and really hope to stay here again in the future.

Lots of deer come by to greet you as you are on the deck. Very clean and organized. Few thing I did notice is need new decking by side door very soft wood won't be long before someone goes through and that dead tree out front should come down before it does damage. Other wise very nice and cozy oh yeah get some better mattresses too soft what you have now.

I saw the pictures so I knew was I was getting into, however....I would give this place 3 out of 5 stars for two reasons. The first reason being the mattresses on the beds need replacing. I had a hard time sleeping because of how old and slumped they are. Mattresses are not even that expensive, just replace them. The other thing I did not like is that they have a game room shown in the description, but your guess is as good as mine as to where it is. They should be more descriptive about how to access this game room. Everything else was cool. Small cottage in the woods. If this place got a little TLC it could be an outstanding rental unit.
