Perfect location to serve as a base for touring the region. Outstanding river views from rooms. Adjacent to railway station with cute trains on route adjacent to river. Excellent breakfast and fine restaurant for dinner.

The hotel is beautiful and it is located directly on the river. The views are beautiful! The entire staff was wonderful. The restaurants on site are excellent too! We would absolutely return.

Largest suite I have ever seen
We had a large suite on the third floor overlooking the river. It was wonderful. Breakfast was included and it was a large buffet of hot and cold selections. Parking was easy. Perfect location.

The property is beautiful, with a fantastic location and a room offering a lovely river view. It’s conveniently situated for river tours, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The entire place was well-maintained and spotless. The only drawback is that it’s a bit pricey.

Heart of the valley
A slice of heaven. Discovered this place 0n a day trip a year ago and knew we had to return for a stay. Now we have to return for several days. So comfortable and beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone who likes wine or not. Love this place, truly a hidden gem!

Costly but worth it.
The Vintage House is very nice - comfortable and clean. Great breakfasts, limited bar menu for lunch or snacks and the restaurant for dinner is a bit (!) pricey.

Almost everything at this hotel is high class. I say almost because there were two disappointments: the lack of a mirror in the bathroom is/was hard to understand and accept; this was one disappointment. The other was the dinner option at their in house restaurant; much better options (not to mention the price) nearby in town.

This is a great property that is located close to restaurants, Douro river boat rides, and wineries. All rooms have excellent views and the property has very nice amenities. There are also hiking trails close by that are safe. We would definitely stay here again. The only odd thing about the property is that the staff was not as friendly as every other hotel we stayed in during our two week vacation(there were seven). It was off-putting not to have them say hello when we entered the lobby but it wasn't a deal breaker for us either; just odd. FYI, as a VIP property they did upgrade us when we reminded them of our benefit and received a nice bottle of wine.

Beautiful property with great views, excellent staff. Convenient walk to town and at least one or two Quinta's (vineyards). Lovely pool and deck. Outdoor patio bar. Only not: breakfast and dinner menu pricey. But food excellent.
