The area was occupied pre Christ over 2,000 years ago emperor Hadrian built his now famous wall ! on 16 miles away and well worth a visit .
we have the footings of the early occupants "Roundhouses" on our land
The area was also taken by Vikings and we have found a Viking war axe the tell tale marks of battle owner possibly met his end by sword or pick the marks of battle are evident on the axe !
