A house that is a love story, Casa dos Tios, is born out of a tribute from the owner to her uncles and the tender love letters that both exchanged for years. Located near the city of the historic city of Amarante it is a retreat in the middle of the countryside and surrounded by the beauty of nature in its pure state. It has 3 bedrooms, one double en suite with private bathroom, one twin and one single. Your kitchen with its huge fireplace becomes a truly welcoming place to prepare your references and who knows how to venture into the typical cuisine of the area. As a farm it has a huge garden, with some fruit trees, and an old wine press where the characteristic green wine of the Amarante region was made.

The house is surrounded by green and water. The calm sound of water running to catch our hearing. There are even the ruins of an old mill inside the farm. The Tâmega River is just a few meters away and offers unforgettable hikes.
The medieval city of Amarante is half a dozen kilometers away.
Whoever travels in search of cultural values or outdoor activities and communion with nature, such as golf, hunting, fishing, or adventure sports like climbing or raft, sooner or later ends up doing Amarante an obvious destination.
Amarante is a real crossroads: its history, its monuments, its traditions. It is also a revolving plate providing the discovery of Terras de Basto, Trás-os-Montes, Douro, and, a little further away, but facilitated by the new roads, of the city of Porto itself.
If it is nature that calls, the destination is the river Tâmega or the mountains of Abobobeira and Marão, offering both dream landscapes and villages of friendly, welcoming people, rich in traditions and with a marked granite and schist architecture. If the appeal is of the spirit, then the route is made in the city, rich in historical and cultural heritage. In either case, the regional cuisine and sweets, accompanied by a fresh and refreshing green wine, constitute unique tasting moments in an experience of flavors. Visits to the convent and churches of St. Gonçalo, S. Peter and S. Sundays, to the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso and Sacred Art museums. Then, it is also imperative to see the Romanesque spread throughout the municipality and admire porches, arches, eardrums and capitals with all their allegorical ornamentation.
The best way to reach the house is by car, via A4 - Amarante.
