With a wonderful dual aspect outlook to lake, village and fells, this luxurious barn conversion stands on the edge of Grasmere village at the heart of the Lakes. Retaining distinctive original features, 5 star Grey Crag Barn is spacious, sophisticated and superbly arranged for sociable gatherings.
The generous living space has something for everyone; a ground floor sitting room with large flat screen TV, Wii console and games, then a top-floor living area soaking up the views and opening to a furnished terrace and garden. Only a stroll from Grasmere's village centre and with renowned Lake District walks beginning on the doorstep, couples, family or friends will find this a luxurious bolt hole in every way.
The owners regret that children under 7 years are not accommodated. Badgers visit regularly and occasionally red squirrels.

Location
This spacious holiday home in Grasmere takes a prime location for walking in the Lake District, relaxing with the scenery or simply experiencing the unique history of this picturesque Lake District village. Grasmere village, alongside a small lake of the same name, is located right at the centre of the Lake District. Surrounded by famous Lakeland Fells such as the Fairfield Horseshoe, Silver How, Helm Crag and Loughrigg, it's no surprise that the village is a popular self-catering base for walking in the Lake District. You may also have heard of Grasmere's strong historic connections with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived only a stone's throw from Grey Crag Barn at Dove Cottage - part of the Wordsworth Museum - and was inspired by the area's breathtaking scenery.
You'll find other artistic inspiration in the village centre. Several art galleries display the work of local watercolour painters, such as the renowned Heaton Cooper Studio. With tea rooms, traditional Lakeland pubs and delightful local shops to break up the day, you'll enjoy no end of lazy hours exploring the village centre. For dining out, you are only a ten minute walk from the Michelin Starred Forest Side Hotel or try the Good Food Guide-listed Jumble Room. There are also many excellent country pubs in the surrounding area. Self-catering accommodation in Grasmere provides a great starting point for exploring many of the Lake District's highlights. The A591 leads to serene Rydal Water and Ambleside, then on to the shores of Lake Windermere. Heading north, it takes you to Derwent Water and Keswick. The Langdale Valley, Hawkshead village and Coniston water are all within easy reach.
