Great Location
Very nice cabin in an excellent location with great scenery and walks right on your doorstep. Only downside was that the pool hall was closed for maintenance.

A gem in the forest
We loved our stay at the cabin. It was really well equipped, clean and comfortable and the location of the cabin (in our opinion) is one of the best on the park. My son loved the swimming pool and it was great to be able to explore all the local footpaths in the evenings. It was quite therapeutic listening to rain on the cabin in the early mornings and thankfully we were treated with lots of sunny weather during the days to explore the Lake District - a perfect blend!

Lovely clean cabin. Well equipped. Very peaceful surrounded by trees and nice to hear sound of the nearby stream. Children enjoyed the onsite pool and ping pong table. Good for walks and activities around Windermere. Would like to return.

The perfect secluded forest location in the Lakes
We loved our stay at Ullswater Cabin. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It was very clean and in lovely condition. The bathroom is modern with a great walk in shower. The real winner though is the secluded location - the cabin is so private and peaceful (one of the best spots on the site). There’s a brilliant walk from the site to Loughrigg Tarn where we swam in the lake. It’s also an easy 10 min drive from Ambleside where there’s lots to do. The communication from John was great. We loved the leaflet sent in advance. The kids liked looking at the pictures. The cabin is well equipped with everything you need and the kids loved trying out all the board games. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Really enjoyed our week in Ullswater cabin. It was in a lovely, quiet location but within easy reach of towns, walks pubs etc.. The cabin contained everything we could need and was comfy and cosy with a peaceful outside decking and gravelled garden area.

Lovely cabin in unique surroundings
We enjoyed our week in the cabin despite the weather being stuck in monsoon season. The cabin has everything needed to enjoy your time. There was very clear rubbish disposal instructions and everything was smooth running. I did find the lack of bedding a slight nuisance as to bring enough to fit out three beds took up half a suitcase. We had good tv reception but no phone or Wi-Fi. Had to drive down road in order to fill out important online travel forms from a local pubs Wi-Fi. It's ok not to have it until you need it! At least you know before you go so its fair enough. The owner kindly posts some info beforehand with helpful hints and the key lockbox is a godsend. We arrived later than planned in the dark but due to accurate instructions and a nice name sign outside the cabin we found it no problem. There is a decent car space outside. Access road is narrow but that's the price to be paid for the unique seclusion on offer. Outside area was very well kept and a generous size but unfortunately due to constant downpours it was unusable. I would recommend this accommodation for a nice cabin experience but I personally would visit when weather is better in the summer. Good value too ..compared to others I researched in Lake District .

Great location
We had a lovely week at this property with our two boys 8 and 4. It was well equipped with an excellent shower! The owner John was very helpful prior to the visit and even posted us some information. It's a great base to explore the Lakes - lots of walks from the cabin including around Loughrigg Tarn and up Loughrigg hill. Even our smallest covered 30+ miles on foot and bikes over the week! It is a very peaceful location. Thank you for our stay!

Lovely lodge
We had a wonderful time in this beautifully kept lodge. Our only diss appointment was the pool and games room were closed, apparently due to ongoing COVID issues, but we weren’t made aware of this prior to arrival. It was great swimming in the tarn and ultimately we would have been happy to stay there without those facilities, but had disappointed kids to discover they weren’t available as described in blurb. Heads up notice would have been helpful.

We had to cancel last minute
We have stayed here in the past and the cabin is lovely, comfortable and in a beautiful and convenient location. Unfortunately, this time we had to cancel last minute due to health problems. However, John has been extremely helpful and responsive in letting us know whether there are any other available dates later in the year. We hope to stay another time.

Lovely hideaway
Great cabin. Feel like you're in the middle of nowhere - really quiet. However, right in the centre of loads of great places. Excellent location and just right for our needs. Lots of walks directly from the location. We will look to return. Note if travelling soon after this review the pool and games area is not currently open. If this is important to you check before you go.

Slightly Disappointed
Enjoyed the fact that the cabin is very secluded and quiet. However, we booked this cabin under the impression their was a hot tub. Naturally we assumed this would be a private hot tub but that's not the case. It's a public hot tub that is situated near the swimming pool which wouldn't have been so bad but there is no access allowed due to the current situation. The beds are very small doubles and even though the pillows are comfortable, the bed very much isn't. I think usually these little niggles wouldn't bother me on a normal holiday but given that this was meant to be our honeymoon it just left us feeling a little disappointed. Overall if we were to be asked if we would come back, we would probably say no.

Lovely Cabin in the woods
The Cabin was great for our needs; 2 good sized bedrooms were more than enough for the 5 of us. The kids loved the pool area; not too deep but long enough for a slash about. Loved the secluded but not so secluded location.

Great location and accomodation
The cabin is well equipped and in a beautiful spot. Loads of walks from the site and a short drive to Ambleside for shops and pubs. There are also two other pubs within an easy walk. The kids loved the on site pool. My only gripe with the cabin, and it's a minor one , is lack of DVD player for the rainy nights in. But absolutely no complaints, we are considering coming back next year!😎

Great week in the Lakes
The log cabin is in a great location, v central in the lakes. Coniston, Ambleside etc are a stone's throw away. The site has a small pool and jacuzzi which our whole family enjoyed. It's a peaceful site with lively walks from the cabin to a tarn and waterfall. Beautiful. Hopefully we'll return soon! ☺️

Delightful log cabin in secluded woodland setting
Arriving at the park, you drive through, past the hut with the swimming pool and other facilities, arriving at a gate. Once you have parked in the reserved space, you walk down 20 or so steps, to a secluded knoll, with the beck running through, and the other cabins barely visible through the trees. The cabin itself was slightly on the small side, although if the weather is good you can use the veranda, which has chairs and a dining table. There are two bedrooms, newly refurbished bathroom and living /dining/kitchen area. It is warm, dry and cozy, although only one person can comfortable fit in the kitchen area. It is about 3-4 miles from Ambleside, where the nearest shops are, and about 7 miles from Coniston. It is well placed for walks, around the nearby Loughrigg Tarn and Elterwater, and the walk to Ambleside is beautiful and not strenuous. The only downside, apart from the size, is the lack on wifi in the cabin itself - you will need to walk down to the central hut with the swimming pool to use the wifi. Also there is no mobile phone reception on site and I had to walk to the top of the hill to make a phone call. All in all I would recommend it. A family of five could fit there, although it would be tight. I also had a text message after we left saying we had left some things, and that they would post them to us. I suggest you book early if you want to stay here.

Fantastic situation, terrific accommodation
The peace and quiet around the cabin and site were great for the holiday. A treat waking amongst the flora and fauna. Close enough to Ambleside to be convenient but far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle. Some great walks from the site and easy access to quieter roads to reach other great spots. The cabin had all we needed for the family with plenty of extras not normally found in holiday Accom. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely, homely cabin. Great little pool and table tennis hall. Shame about the shower.
Cabin very homely, cosy and well equipped and well loved by the owners. Our 10 year old son loved the bunk room, making friends in the pool (small but great for playing in) and playing table tennis. Shame about the new but very temperamental electronic shower; followed owners instructions but shower would make a high pitched squeal, water pressure would drop to a dribble then come back cold on an approximately twenty second cycle, very irritating! I hope that it can be fixed as the owners have obviously spent a lot of effort refitting the bathroom which otherwise is great. Great location for a variety of walks, cycle rides etc. Lots of birds around the cabin which was lovely. All in all, a lovely place to stay. Thanks to the owners for renting it out.
