Westmorland hospitality at it’s best.
Wonderful Westmorland hospitality. Nice real fire in the Bar, so welcome on an Autumn evening. Chats with local regulars. Beautiful room. Excellent menu and eventual meal plus brilliant choice of wine with no overpricing. Excellent breakfast to complete our visit.

The welcome was good, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything in it we needed, but was rather tired, and the bathroom needed some minor repairs. The water was hot whenever we needed it. The food was excellent.

Wonderful overnight stay. Free parking adjacent to property. Nice building with relaxed vibe. Even the background music was different and interesting. Evening meal very tasty and well presented. Ambiance very nice. Bedroom good size, comfortable large bed, and quiet. Breakfast (we had pancakes, back bacon and maple syrup with berries) was superb. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended. .

A very welcoming inn with friendly, helpful staff and a warm atmosphere. Bedroom was a bit basic but very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are absolutely superb!

For the cost of the room, I was bitterly disappointed with the standard of the room. The photographs on the website do not remotely represent the actual room we got. The room stank of dogs, the en-suite bathroom was particularly dirty and run Down, mouldy ceiling sink cupboard doors damaged beyond repair by water damage. The toilet was unclean, the fan was useless and unsuitable for getting rid of the built up steam and giving adequate ventilation but in general, the whole room was generally run down.

This inn is quaint in a way that makes it perfect for anyone visiting Grasmere. It is not fancy, but is very comfortable and has excellent staff. I would gladly stay here for a week or more.
