A real gem at a central location
This is hands down the best of Amsterdam's "budget" hotels. Location is amazing, rooms are clean and well equipped and staff are super friendly and helpful.

Pictures don’t justify the reality. No elevators. If you have a large suitcase climbing steep and narrow stairs to the 3rd level is a nightmare. Rooms are extra small and toilet/bathroom is the smallest one can ever imagine. Sitting on the toilet you will bang your knees on wall in from if you are 5’ 9” or taller ! Also , the street below has loud noise of party goers ALL NIGHT LONG. Couldn’t sleep at all. Worst property ever!

It is an old building so be prepared to carry your luggage up many narrow flights of stairs depending on which level your room is on. It is also in the touristy area and food options open late so you will hear the liveliness of the people on the street while falling asleep. I was tired from walking everyday exploring so it didn’t bother me. I fell asleep quickly. All that aside, the hotel staff are friendly, the hotel is very conveniently located and walkable to many things. I would consider staying here again next time I’m in Amsterdam. Love the city and the friendly people!

City center and great for walking. Sadly very crowded tourist area, which gets very noisy at night and weekends. Stairs extremely steep and lots of them for most of the rooms - not recommended for older or anyone with access issues. Noisy rooms and you can hear everything from neighbours, including parties. Rooms clean and functional - good value for the price. They smell like cigarette smoke, despite the hotel being non-smoking? Note, there is a local tax payable (12 euros per night per room) directly to the hotel on check-in. The staff are excellent and responsive, probably the highlight, along with the location.

Hotel was brilliant. Very nice room. Room to move. Bathroom was a bit awkward to use but shower was hot and the shower gels and shampoos that come with the room were a lovely bonus. Air conditioning was also brilliant. Would stay here again.
