You definitely get what you pay for with this hotel. Seeing mixed reviews and knowing I am a pretty laid back traveler, I gave Hotel Di Ann the benefit of the doubt and thought it couldn’t be too bad. This place is broken down, dirty, and very tight. Mold growing in the bathroom, stained blankets, and no air conditioning. Trash all over the common area by the lobby. BEWARE: the service staff went into our bags and took 60€ out of our wallet while we weren’t in the room. Would NOT stay here again.

The staff was amazing and gave us great recommendations for dining and the best local bars! The stair to go in is a bit steep but doable! We had a balcony and had some Amsterdam fun and beers!

Would not not be able to recommend this hotel at all. Booked this just as a place to sleep, as we didnt plan to spend much time there and it still fell below basic standards. Very dirty (cleaned certain areas myself) the bathrooms are horrific and we found bugs which we reported. The staff member came to the room and took pictures themselves. Will not stay again!

The place itself is a little older but the bed was comfortable and clean and the location impeccable. Waking up to a canal view was a calming start to the day in a busy city. The stairs weren't that bad. Just average stairs for this part of Europe. Have encountered more perilous stairs in Norway. To avoid carrying multiple suitcases up, I repacked at the airport so everything I needed was in my carry-on then left my checked bag at the luggage storage up the road (mobile repair shop opp Westmarkt tram stop). Would recommend this place for anyone on a budget who wants to enjoy the city sights and cafes.

This hotel is right in the center of much of Amsterdam’s action. Most big sites are within walking distance. Rooms are small. All is dated. Bathrooms are “all in one,” so there is no separation between the shower and the toilet. Good if you want to be right in the middle of the action and are on a relatively limited budget. If you cannot do steep steps or have huge baggage, this hotel is probably not the one for you. Bakery just below the hotel is a wonderful place for breakfast!

Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were very basic. A ventilation grille was missing in my bathroom door, and my cousin had a safe box lying around on her room floor. I could not get the TV to work. However, the bed was very comfortable, if rather basic, good wi-fi connection. No breakfast provided at this hotel. Being an old Dutch building it had very steep and narrow stairs, and no lift. This hotel would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, or health problems.

We have stayed here in the past. The previous owners had young people bring up your bags to the room since there is no lift and the stairs are very steep and straight up. They no longer do that. No upgrades to the complex in years. No AC or fans.

We have been staying at budget friendly hotels throughout our trip, compared to the others this hotel was in a state of disrepair and unhygienic. The rooms, bedding and showers aren't clean (staining and mold). The cold shower knob had fallen off and was hard to use. We saw a mouse run into our room from under the door at one point. This likely reflects the poor vaccuming of rooms. Also, be prepared for the smoke alarms to go off briefly each day as the showers set them off. Be prepared for several flights of narrow steep stairs too. No elevators. The windows are held open by wooden blocks. I understand this is a budget hotel but compared to the other budget hotels we have stayed in, it was not up to scratch for the price point. They aren't even getting the basics correct.

The rooms was very small, not.like the picture at all. The bed was very small. The room smelled a little like mold. The bathroom was barely clean. The staff was very kind and courteous, however.
