Each of the hotel room has a unique design, our room with canal views,bed and pillows are comfortable also staffs are friendly. Free breakfast and got a set of Delft blue ceramic coasters for souvenir too.

Would definitely rate this place a solid 4-stars (or under 4.5) only due to value. It’s not an inexpensive place to stay. We payed with taxes included about $440 a night. The hotel was unique with a modern flair which was interesting but it was also a tight squeeze, up the stairs, in the entrance area, along as elevator. It’s Europe so it’s common but can also be claustrophobic at times due to the original layout of the building. We stayed in the Shoemaker (3rd floor). Room was smaller than expected but we managed. The floor was also slanted so it was not leveled. Not a big deal. The shower has great water pressure but the the door (where it closed) has 2 gaps which allowed the water to leak out. That was kind of annoying having to clean it up after stepping out. It’s just water but annoying. Breakfast was good but would have preferred to pay less than to have it included in all rates. Not sure if it would’ve reduced the cost a bit but for someone who doesn’t eat breakfast or would prefer to have a pastry at a local shop, I would e preferred the option. Otherwise, the breakfast was nice and faced the canal which was also nice. Location was perfect—central to everywhere and very walkable to all the best restaurants. Customer service was great—all the girls were super sweet and attentive. Would definitely consider returning to this property if it were less (granted it’s high season when we booked) but will consider other options just for value.

This is a wonderful hotel! Such an amazing mix of modern and history, many remarkable touches too. The staff is wonderful, absolutely brilliant customer service. Breakfast was beautifully served. I will stay here again for sure!

Lovely and very cool!
Excellent, cool, tiny hotel! The room was really cool and definitely added to our travel experience. It was clean, big enough for four (it had a room upstairs) and the beds were great. Breakfast was incredible and the staff were beyond lovely. Make sure the hotel works for you if you have accessibility issues but it was perfect for us. There's a small red light street right behind it. Didn't both of but families with kids might want to know. We just didn't walk down that street. Lovely hotel and experience and we'd definitely go back!

Easy walk from the train station and convenient to the tram stop. Delicious breakfast, impeccably clean and very uniquely decorated. Perfect location for walking to the Anne Frank house or taking a canal tour. We loved the staff and our too short time in Amsterdam.

I was in the Miller room in June 2024. The Craftsmen is located in a great location. It combines old-world charm and modern amenities. The staff are all great as is the included breakfast. Finally, you get a memorable parting gift. However, I gave this hotel only 4 stars because of several issues that should not occur in such an expensive hotel: - You can hear people outside the hotel quite easily even if you are on the top floor. Better window insulation could help if it’s permitted for historical buildings. - The stairwell is very narrow even though it is not the worse I saw in Amsterdam. The hotel also has a tiny 1-person elevator. However, persons with mobility issues and/or obese people should avoid this hotel (this probably applies to all the hotels in the historical district) - Some cleaning supplies were left in the room from previous occupants - Miller room has many low beams and doorways. You WILL hit your head several times if you are over 6’2” - Mirror in the bathroom is largely useless due to the angle - Shower would benefit from a second or stronger light - I was given oats for breakfast but no liquid or yoghurt which kind of defeats the point of including the oats
