First the staff were great, friendly and as accommodating as possible. We booked a “Superior” Room for approx. $500 CAD per night. The room was dated, with a very small window that barely opened. A corkscrew really steep stairway downstairs to the bathroom, made night trips dangerous - basically crawled up the stairs. It was warm and humid and this room had no air movement. They provided an old fan that did nothing, on the second night they found a small older fan to add which really didn’t do much. The only way to get the room to a bareable temperature was to open the door to the hallway (which was cooler) block it open with the garbage can and fan sitting on top. Overnight the fans were incredibly noisy and the room was impossible to sleep in for heat. We were there for 3 nights and barely slept, put a real downer on our time in Amsterdam. Absolutely did not meet our expectations and will not be going back.

We had a lovely stay, location is excellent. It’s a modern comfortable hotel. Beautiful view looking over the canal. Staff are very helpful. We didn’t have breakfast but looked nice, coffee was very good. No aircon so we had the window open which was fine. Our only issue was the stairs, as others have mentioned they are extremely steep and our room was on the top floor. It was an ordeal every time we needed to go to the room.

A truly lovely experience in a very lovely historical hotel. I only give it a 4 for facilities because there was no USB outlet in the room. Right along a canal and close to everything. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent location, welcoming staff and cool decor both in the room and the lobby. Late check out was easy to arrange and the staff were lovely. We opted for the Small Canal View room which was a nice basic room- smaller than expected and unfortunately had no wardrobe. But apart from that, a great stay and would definitely recommend for couples who wish to explore the beautiful streets of Amsterdam!

True Boutique Hotel
This is a true boutique hotel. From the exterior facade to the lobby entrance and amenities we knew we were in for a great stay. Their staff and service is top notch. The fact that there is always someone available at the front desk was a treat compared to our other hotel experiences. Our room was 205 small canal view and was perfect for our 2 night stay. Could probably do 3 nights in this room just fine but I would go with a larger room if it was more than 3 nights. The canal view was perfection. We were fine with the provided fans and the windows open temp wise inside the room and I run extra hot. Yes the stairs were steep and narrow but this is Amsterdam. I felt the stairs here were easier to navigate compared to our other hotel stays. Location was perfection. Quiet in the evening and moderated bustling during the day. I would without a doubt stay here again if traveling to Amsterdam.

Jewel in the canal
Very cute, trendy, and well appointed hotel right on the canal in Holland. The only drawback was the stairs that are steep and many depending on the location of your room.

I had a lovely stay. My room was quiet, on the inside of the hotel. Bathroom set up was odd at first (down a spiral staircase, and somewhat short ceiling), but I adapted quickly. No AC—good fan in the room though. Location is perfect for exploring Jordaan and it’s a nice walk to museums, Nine Streets, etc. Being canal-side is the best!

My fault, swayed by the charm of staying in a converted canal house. Steep stairs, no elevator. Room was tiny, bathroom tinier, No AC but had a rattly fan. Could only raise one window about six inches, the other was sealed shut.
