We stayed here for 3 nights, and I think I only have one positive about this hotel. The location. In great walking distance of everything and good transport links. However…
The cleanliness in the room was not ideal. Ripped towels (they did bring clean towels daily however), marks on the lamp shade, dirty toilet brush, mould around the window and wall, loose wires, and a hole in the wall showing wires.
On our last night before checkout, I had noticed when the bottom sheet of the bed came loose, there was a big brown stain on the mattress. Granted, I should have checked the bed when we first got in the room, but still, you don’t really expect it to be in that state, and the bed sheets were clean! We decided to just fit the sheet back and deal with it for one last night, as it was quite late at this point, and we would be leaving in the morning.
It wasn’t until the morning, we had noticed we both had bites/ red lumps and rash on our ankles/ legs. Obviously we both thought the worst… bed bugs! I didn’t fully inspect the bed, as all I wanted to do was get out of there! But I put two and two together.
When we went down to checkout, I complained to reception about it, but they didn’t seem too shocked/ bothered by it. Safe to say I won’t be staying here again. I did check reviews before booking and but nothing seemed to be particularly bad. It wasn’t really a cheap hotel either!
