Loved the location of this hotel as there are so many restaurants and attractions close by. This location does require a bike ride, bus, or taxi/uber to get to the Heineken Experience, Van Gogh Museum, and Rijksmuseum. The only down side is the shower/tub, specifically the guard when taking a shower. Due to the positioning on the retractable shower head, water does leak through the guard to create puddling on the floor. The hotel does provide coffee, tea, iron/ironing board, 2 free glass water, and a mini bar for purchase. There is air conditioning.

The property is in a good location and the rooms are Bye too small but the lighting was poor. There was only small one window in the room and it looked out to another building so not enough light. Upon check-in, we were given two twin beds instead of a king, which the front desk told me that Expedia has “force booked” so they didn’t have the king bed available as originally booked. I also accidentally left a blouse in the room and I have reached out a few times via email and phone for the past 3 days. They keep telling me they are still waiting to hear back from Housekeeping. Still waiting as I write this review. Other hotels have been more responsive and helpful in my experience. Overall, I think this hotel was overpriced. If anything, location was pretty good and the fresh orange juice at breakfast was probably the best about this hotel.

Great hotel in a great location. Only complaint is with the tub/shower. It was very slippery and not a flat surface for taking a shower. Would have been great for a tub bath, but didn't use it for that. Adequate breakfast items.

Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Location was great to walk everywhere - Rijksmuseum, Central Station, Cruise Port, Red light district. Wish they had electric plugs or USB ports bedside, but would definitely come back to stay again.

Swissotel took advantage of my unexpected inability to visit Amsterdam more than a month after I had booked a one-night stay. They insisted on charging me in full as apparently the booking was “non-refundable”. Of course they could very easily re-sell the room to someone else, which they most likely did given how much advance notice I’d given them.

Prime location, 1-2 mins from Dam square, 10-15 mins from central train station. Great and friendly staff. Bed sheet was not clean, coffee/blood stains were on it, shower was slippery. Otherwise nice room and furniture.
