Historic, Heart of City Home - Near U/Med District

Updated historic home in the heart of Anchorage. Built in 1947 and updated in recent years; the perfect base for Alaska adventure near downtown Anchorage, the University/Medical District and the petroleum companies.

Originally built in 1947 by an Anchorage-based flight surgeon, this home has been upgraded and expanded from its original log home footprint. The house features a massive, luxury 750 sq ft private master suite, including walk-in, two-person shower plus a separate corner jetted tub, and quality elliptical and Total Gym machines. The house also features a custom wine bar, professional cooking appliances and a lovely landscaped yard with full southern exposure, overlooking Anchorage from a south facing bluff.

Relax in the late evening sun around the firepit with a glass of wine after a day of adventure in southcentral Alaska!

The property is less than 5 minutes drive from downtown shopping and dining.

The entire home will be accessible to renters. There are two garages at the house. One space is available for renter parking in the larger garage. The other small garage/shop is only available to the owners.

I will provide my personal contact information to guests in case any needs or questions arise during their stay. Our housekeeper can also be made available for any special needs of guests, at her standard hourly rate.

The house is located at the edge of Fairview, one of Anchorage's oldest neighborhoods. It is on a very quiet street but very near downtown shopping and dining. The main highways heading both north and south of Anchorage are just blocks away. Alaska Regional Hospital, Providence Alaska Medical Center, and the University of Alaska Anchorage are very close by as well.

There is ample parking for up to four cars in the main driveway. One stall of the main garage may be used by renters.

It is very easy to get around Anchorage from the house. The main shopping and dining areas of downtown are within 5 minutes drive. There are also bike trails about a block away from the house.

Our family has rented many homes around the world. We hope to provide you an experience that we expect when we travel!

Great property, setting, and central location
Our family of 8 adults enjoyed our stay in this very unique, comfortable, and well equipped home. The owner was great to work with and communicated well. The house is very clean and well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The central location and close proximity to downtown restaurants and nearby grocery stores made for a more relaxed stay. Thank you Beau!

Great trip
There were 8 of us and the house was perfect for us. My son and his two sons slept upstairs. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms so my daughter, husband, and two granddaughters slept there. I slept in the bedroom in the basement. It was a nice location. Easy to get to downtown and the airport. We also went to Whittier, Kaitmai, Girdwood, and Talkeetna. We also enjoyed the firepit outside each evening. Wonderful time.

Great Alaskan getaway
The house was setup nice for 3 couples. Plenty of living space. The house was clean and well equipped. The manager was very easy to communicate with and responsive. We had a late flight and he offered to give us a late checkout since the house was not booked for that night. I am not familiar with Anchorage neighborhoods, the house seemed to be on the edge, great neighborhood on our side of the street and forward. But across the street seemed different. We had no issues and were close to downtown and everyplace we wanted to go to, including the airport. I would reccomend.

If this listing is available for your trip book it now!
I can not say enough positive things about this house. We felt like we were at home. Everything that we could possibly think about needing was there. The little touches throughout are unbelievable. 9 of us stayed at this rental and we had plenty of room. We would gather in the living room and sit around laughing, snacking, and enjoying our trip. A well stocked kitchen, laundry, towels, extra blankets. You name it we found out. Due to our large group we have rented a 12 passenger van. The garage was large enough for us to park inside. That was so nice to not worry about having to defrost or plug in the vehicle. Our main purpose for the trip was to see the Iditarod. We were literally minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from the 2nd visitor spectator location for the ceremonial start. We opted to drive to the 2nd ceremonial location and see the mushers there. If you are planning a trip to Anchorage and this house is available book it immediately! You won't regret it.

Excellent property, excellent location, and excellent owner
I choose this property based on its location and the amenities within the property and I was not disappointed. The property is inviting, cozy, with tons of warm colors and rich woods. It has a gourmet kitchen, plenty of space for a large family or several couple, top of the line TVs and appliances, and all located in the middle of Anchorage. Its an easy walk to downtown, or mid town. I plan to stay here every time I come to Anchorage
