Eagle Nest Studio

Welcome to a Doll House, a historic house in the Hamlet of Andes, in the heart of the Catskills mountains! We welcome you to a breathtaking autumn leaf display, cool summers, fabulous winter skiing...any season has its attractions in this quaint American town.

The private Eagle studio has lots of character with its gabled vaulted ceiling, gothic window in a dining area, a comfortable queen bed, a twin bed, a sitting area with Tv/ROKU - great for a group of 3 guests! The en suite bathroom has a one-person jacuzzi tub with a shower. Guests can use a full size refrigerator, an electric stove and a full kitchen with everything necessary to make a meal. The studio is located on the 3rd floor with the entrance thru the house and gives guests full privacy. The door has a regular keyed entry.

No pets are allowed in the house. The house is not pet friendly and has carpet in all bedrooms, basement and corridor. We kindly ask to not inquire or bring pets of any kind to the house.

The space
The studio apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a historic house built over 110 years ago. The apartment is a separate unit with great privacy. It can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests. It has en suite full size bathroom with a one-person jacuzzi tub and a shower, a queen bed, a twin bed. There are two ceiling fans in the apartment. It has a portable AC unit to be used in summer.

The Doll House was lovingly renovated and boasts four bedrooms, master suite, an apartment and a full size basement lounge. The house has four levels. The basement is a Gentlemen's Lounge with a great TV area and a pool table, sauna/sweat room. It can be used by all guests as a general entertainment area.

The first floor has a main kitchen with a bathroom and four French doors opening to the generous deck; a living room with a Steinway piano and a wood burning fireplace; a parlor/entrance room from the front porch and stairs to teh 2nd floor, and a bedroom off the kitchen where the manager of the property stays.

The 2nd floor has a master suite with en suite bathroom, and two bedrooms listed and a full size bathroom. The house boasts gorgeous perennial gardens, a bubbling mountain creek...with outside sitting areas, a swing and a fire pit

Guest access
The house has a generous parking. We also have a front porch sitting area and a backyard deck with a gas grill for our guests to enjoy. We are a walking distance to downtown Andes with a choice of restaurants and entertainment. The EV charger is available at the Andes library. Many events are organized in the vicinity. The manager can assist with the information or you can "google" and find things you enjoy.

The guest renting the studio will also have access to the basement lounge, sauna (extra fee) and the living room.

Other things to note
Two RING electronic doorbells managed by smartphone are installed on the front and back doors for guests' convenience and added security. The TV sets in the Gentlemen's Lounge and on the 3rd floor have ROCU for streaming. The Doll House has no TV cable service.

WOW!
I didn't tell my step-daughter anything about the place before we stayed and she was WIDE EYED as we entered this wonderful little haven! We taught her how to play pool downstairs, and although we were in the Eagle's Nest, she was able to have her own space (thank you for the space divider) so that we could have our privacy as a couple as well. The place was impeccable! Had everything we needed and MORE!

Great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at The Doll House, in its Eagle Nest apartment. It has plenty of space, well equipped kitchen, its own bathroom, multiple beds and just has a great character with the swing included. It's close to the town restaurants and within a short walk to the goat farm with great dairy products. The room had an AC that we didn't even have to use much since the room temperature felt comfortable. Gleb was present at the property and was very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

Convenient location
We loved being able to walk to all the things we wanted to do in downtown Andes! This room is difficult to navigate due to the “attic”ceilings but it is unique as can be with many fun nooks and crannies. It was hard for my 6ft 2 husband. Hosts are fantastic and other rooms in the house would be perfect.

Excellent Stay
I booked this place for my husband and I for a night away. When my kids got sick the host so kindly let me switch my reservation on short notice. Fast forward two weeks later, and we had the perfect time. Andes is a cute town with a nice night life. The space was cozy and private. In the morning our truck was dead, and one of the owners came out and gave us a jump. It was a lovely experience. Would recommend!

Nice place but difficult owner
If I didn't have to deal with the owner (not the on site manager Gleb - he was great) this would be an easy 5 star. The house and room were beautiful and clean. I had a simple question about how to turn on the ceiling fan and the owner response over the app was very condescending and put me in a bad mood to start a fun weekend retreat. She stated it clearly said in the listing that there was no AC in the building (yea, I know, but I'm not asking about AC. .). Then she said it would cool down at night and be very nice in there (yea, but I've got all the windows open and I'm sweating right now at 5pm cause it is hot and humid outside and there was no breeze). Still would recommend to others.

Listing promised AC (important in a 3rd floor walk up) but there were only fans. Listing also noted “jacuzzi” - nope. Carpets old and dirty, bed under eaves with virtually no head space. Toilet handle fell off on first use, was fixed next day but…Many posted warnings about keeping water off tiles surrounding tub while showering; this was difficult and involved plastic sheeting. No communication about promised continental breakfasts. The manager was helpful, though, and the porch and grounds were nice. But photos and description were very inconsistent with what we experienced.
