Perfect Secluded Getaway
My partner and I stayed for a snowy weekend away and it was absolutely perfect! The pictures do not do the view nor the coziness of the cabin justice, we could not have asked for a better place to stay to unwind! The place was very clean with plenty of water, kitchen supplies, and wood provided with detailed instructions for use. As we went during the winter months the road up to the cabin can be a bit dicey, but with 4-wheel drive it was definitely manageable. Brenda was a very responsive host (and a very talented artist - check out the portraits and other artwork for sale!) and helped us out with all of our questions in a timely manner. My only recommendations would be that if you visit during the winter, bring plenty of blankets as even with the wood stove it can get a bit chilly, and be sure to bring plenty of food as options nearby are extremely limited. Thankfully, the cabin was furnished with blankets and ample cooking supplies - we cooked our own meals every night and ran into no issues. Would absolutely recommend and we are looking forward to staying again sometime soon!!!

Perfect Cozy Cabin
This cabin is a gem of a property! Tucked away on the mountainside with excellent views and a bit of tree cover. The cabin itself has gas lights that make for excellent moody lighting, a spacious loft with 2 beds, and a completely equipped kitchen. We couldn’t believe how easy the stay was and how secluded we could be while still being within 25 minutes of a major town. If you’re looking for a cozy space away, look no further!

Inspiring Off-Grid, Cozy Mountain Cabin
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend just before Thanksgiving. We loved watching the scenery in the valley change from snow squalls to sun to clear night sky. There’s a cabin in view that looked just like a gingerbread house! Spent our days exploring the nearby trails and towns, and our evenings cozied up by the wood stove. We are grateful to Brenda and Lance for welcoming us to their lovely mountain top. We look forward to returning :)

Gorgeous views, awesome cabin!!
This is what we miss the most about our trip to ME now that we are back home in IL...the gorgeous views and the awesome Moose Cabin! The view changes, from the moment you wake up and look down the valley from the window next to the bed, to the view off the deck as you eat breakfast, to the view by the camp fire later in the evening and to all the moments in between! Gorgeous! We really felt comfortable in this cabin, as if it were home and we belonged there! Lance and Brenda were so helpful with dropping off the 2 kayaks and getting us started on our 1st trip kayaking. Ellis pond and its back waters were so much fun! We had a great day finding turtles and navigating the clear waters. Our next 2 days of exploring went smoothly with their helpful suggestions to find area sights and restaurants. We saw so many things in the area, including where the Appalachian trail crosses the road in NH! Wow, just getting on the trail sure gave me a different level of respect for those that have hiked that trail!! Our 3 days at Moose Mountain Cabin was the highlight of our 10 days in the beautiful state of ME. Thank you Lance and Brenda for sharing your hospitality and land with us!

Awesome!!!
We stayed here for our honeymoon in April. It was fantastic! It took 7:08 to just drive the "driveway" and that was going at a decent pace. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place. Way better than a cabin resort or a string of cabins. We found moose scat less than 50 yards from the cabin. If you want to see wildlife, a good route to drive in the evening (6:30pm) is to make a loop on Upton Road to Andover Road to 26 highway and loop beside Grafton Notch state park - we saw tons of blacktail deer, moose, turkeys, patridges, and more! The cabin is not fancy, so just know that going into it. You will be using a composting toilet, gas lights/appliances, and drinking/cleaning water from jugs. I would advise bringing your own food, since it can be expensive in the surrounding towns. All in all, it was great and we hope to be back again!

Solitude at its best
This was a great experience. The cabin is beautiful and well equipped. No electronics. No noise. No light pollution. And I’ve never breathed so well in my life. The cabin is surrounded with hiking trails and beautiful views of the mountains. The best part is that they are pet friendly! Brenda and Lance are very welcoming and helpful. I didn’t want to leave but I will be going back soon! Only thing I would suggest is that a set of stairs be added to the back deck.

Amazing getaway!
Had a fantastic stay at Moose Mountain cabin. The view is unmatched; not another soul in sight. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very welcoming. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, this is the place to be. It's a beautiful property in a beautiful area. Nearby Devil's Den is a great swimming hole that we had to ourselves. Lower Richardson Lake was worth the short drive for an afternoon of canoeing, and nearby Ellis Pond provided a surprisingly scenic sandy beach. All the information needed to operate the non-electric amenities in the cabin is clearly posted, and Brenda was responsive to our questions via text. (Verizon seems to have good service in the area, but not AT&T - at least in our experience). The cabin was already stocked with a lot of the essentials and the country store in Andover was a convenient stop for food and other items. This is a pristine corner of New England and off-grid is the way to experience it. We will definitely be back at Moose Mountain!
