Ski In/Ski Out! This beautiful cabin with fabulous views of Wheeler Peak, the Village of Angel Fire and the valley is at the top of the mountain with short 150 ft walk up to Heading Home ski run. The proximity to the slopes can't be overstated. You will greatly enjoy avoiding the crowds and equipment hassle at the base. There is lots of hang out space in this cabin that sleeps up to 18 people. It also has everything you would expect including internet/wifi, hot tub and fireplace.

Wonderful location!
The hot tub was hot and the slopes were groomed and fast! A small walk to the run Headinā€™ Home and we strapped in on the mountain. Paul was responsive and we saw a ton of deer. They also had an awesome mud room where we stored 6 snowboards and three pairs of skis and boots. If itā€™s available next time weā€™d love to do it again!

Wonderful place to stay, tons of room. Had a question for host, communication was terrific. This place has a tankless water heater, which is definitely the way to go for large crowds in the winter. We don't have teenagers anymore, but if we did, that downstairs room would be a huge bonus. Check in was seamless, everything in the house worked. The view from the great room and balcony is wonderful. The lodge is awesome and very comfortable. Planning on staying there again. However, one thing I feel needs to be mentioned. The hill you have to climb to get to the slopes is pretty steep and a bit of a challenge. If you have little ones, or bad knees like me, you need to plan accordingly. As long as you know that going in, no big deal. Still loved it. I absolutely recommend this place.

Great place!
Pulling up, the house was just as beautiful as in the pictures! The layout was perfect for us. The house had everything we needed and more! We had a few issues, but Paul was very quick to respond to get things fixed! He was a terrific host! The proximity to Heading Home is very close. It is an uphill hike, but very short and worth it. Overall, it was wonderful. The views are spectacular!!! Would highly recommend and would love to come back!

Beautiful view and house!
We loved the house and the view was amazing especially on Christmas when it snowed!The drive up to the house was steep but beautiful. The 5 minute walk to the ski slope was a bit challenging but definitely worth it!

Nie ski in-ski-out with plenty of room for a large group
Our large family has stayed in this lodge several times and we always enjoy it. This year, we had a problem with the oven not heating properly, but we said we could manage and not to address it until after our stay. I assume it has since been repaired. There's an on-demand hot water system, so plenty of hot water for everyone to shower in the evenings. I'm sure we'll be back.

The location is perfect for multi-aged family group. The view is amazing. Being able to ski in/out is perfect. The house was comfortable and clean. Vince the property manager was great to work with and truly wanted us to be sure we had a great time. Wonderful memories were made. We will be back!

Great Location and Wonderful Stay with a few mishaps
This home was setup perfectly for our large family ski trip. Ample space in the common areas for us to all enjoy being together in the evenings after a day of skiing. As someone else noted in their review, the bunkroom is quite separated from the rest of the home. We planned accordingly for this so it wasn't an issue. Beautiful views, well-stocked kitchen, overall great time. Our few mishaps were simply inconveniences. Upon arrival we didn't have enough towels for the number of guests and were only left with 2 kitchen trash bags for a 5 night stay. Thankfully, Vince remedied this for us by the next day. We later found the same issue with paper towels and toilet paper. So I would plan to bring your own extra paper goods. The propane heater in the bunk room stopped working. They did send someone out, but it couldn't be fixed while we were there. The biggest inconvenience was the oven not working properly. We had to shift quite a few of our meal plans that we had already bought ingredients for because it wouldn't hold temperature. This one wasn't resolved while we were there either. All in all, we would definitely book this place again for our group.

Such a great house!
We had the best time. We enjoyed the house immensely as itā€™s set up as the perfect ski house. The mud room downstairs was so great to keep all our gear. The bunk room off the garage gave our teens a great place to hang out. We had 3 families and the house was just perfect! It is quite the hike to the slopes but we all did it easily. We just wouldnā€™t want to do it over and over in the same day. Easy to ski back down to the house. We will definitely be booking again.

We had a great time and the house had everything we needed! The view was amazing! The skiers were able to stop by for lunch and get back on the slopes. It is not an easy climb up the hill to the slopes; but the younger ones didnā€™t have a problem with it! We enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped. We would love to come back!

A ā€œchillyā€ reception with a ā€œheartwarmingā€ ending
We arrived at the scheduled check in time, armed with access instructions and ALL the excitement, only to find that the furnace was broken and the house was just over 40 degrees inside. A quick call to the owner, who immediately contacted the property manager, and we had a maintenance person there within an hour. Unfortunately, the furnace required parts that werenā€™t available until the next day, so they brought us space heaters and promised to return the next day. After a pretty miserable night trying to keep 12 people warm around the fire and under blankets the unit was fixed around noon the next day. From there on out it was smooth sailing and we truly enjoyed our time in Angel Fire. LOTS of snow, great skiing and comfortable accommodations for the rest of our trip. The only thing I think is worth mentioning for future guests is that while the ā€œpathā€ to the ski slope isnā€™t very far, it is VERY steep and difficult to navigate, especially in ski boots. We ended up driving down the mountain to the lifts with my 3 year old granddaughter because she absolutely couldnā€™t make that climb, and I almost couldnā€™t do it either. Iā€™m sure this was more difficult than normal because of the 12+ inches of snow that had fallen right before we got there, but I donā€™t think it would be an easy walk even with no snow on the ground. Kitchen was well equipped, the view was spectacular and the home itself was lovely. Beds were very uncomfortable but the room arrangements were nice.

Family vacation
We had a wonderful time! The house was absolutely beautiful. We all enjoyed our vacation. Loved being that close to the trials. Just so you know, you canā€™t actually ski to the trials. You walk up a hill to get there. It was a little difficult to climb the hill in the fresh snow to get to the ski trials but it was manageable. It did get easier after the snow was packed down some. We still had a wonderful time!!!

The cabin was as described and our family had an amazing time. It did get pretty hot for the area during our stay so it did get rather warm a couple of days in the cabin but all in all we had an amazing time and would definitely book again.

This is the 2nd year for my family to stay at the Ski in/Ski out in Angel Fire. This home is cozy, packet with everything you need in a kitchen, and very close to the slopes. We especially love the bunk room where we make all the teens go to play. We enjoyed our time again this year and are looking forward to book again for next season.

Love this property!
We have stayed in this property three years in a row for our annual family ski trip. We love the easy access to the slope, the beautiful views, the mule deer that delight the children when they come to the back porch for treats, the spacious kitchen, the abundance of towels, the high chair and the extra tables and chairs. It's the perfect size and set up for our family of 10 adults and 6 children. The path up to the slope is about a 40 yard hike, but still great for everybody to be able to come and go as they need to without driving at all - especially handy for skiing with children! Please be aware that you definitely need 4 wheel drive if there has been any recent snow (local contractors clear the drive and roads of snow/ice fairly quickly, but you can still get caught trying to drive through deep snow if a storm comes through just before or as you are arriving, like it did for us this time). The drive up to the house is steep and quite long, with a tricky turn in the process, so be ready with chains and/or 4 wheel drive. All the beds are great, except for the bunks in the extra garage room which are only adequate for children. We'd love to see a bigger refrigerator, or maybe an extra one in the garage, since we bring A LOT of food. On the other hand, you can usually leave ice chests on the deck for extra cold storage, so we manage. Everyone enjoys the hot tub!!! Although we wish it was bigger (it holds about 4 people), smaller hot tubs seem to be the norm in Angel Fire. A maintenance person arrived soon after we did to be sure the water was clear and ready to go in the hot tub, and to clear the decks of ice & snow, which we really appreciated. All in all a great stay and we'll be back!
