An absolutely delightful stay in a beautifully restored elegant manor home in this historic stately town. The owners are very attentive, friendly and hospitable. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large ensuite. Our breakfast was delicious with homemade scones, fresh coffee and juices. Located a quick walk to shops, the Fort and the Botanical Gardens. We felt so welcomed by our hosts. What a restful, delightful stay in one of my favourite towns in Nova Scotia. The Lark and Loon may well now be our favourite bed and breakfast!

Our stay would rank in my top 3 of all time and Iv'e been as far east as Poland, as far west as South Korea and as far south as Ecuador.The cleanliness and convenience ticked all the boxes but it excelled in several other areas. History and heritage - The Lark and Loon is in North America's oldest town and the Richie house is steeped in history with many unique features including an impressive oak staircase with a "minute balcony" at the top where chamber musicians would have entertained the whole house for elaborate parties. Breakfast - the dining table was fully set in the dining room and the breakfast consisted of fresh baked break or biscuit, choice of several juices, fruit dish with 5 or 6 different fresh fruits, fresh coffee and finally a frittata one morning and an omelette the next. Delicious. Artistic Impressions - if you enjoy the arts, and I do, the Lark & Loon is like no other. To start with, one of the hosts, Kevin, is a world class potter and many of his works are displayed throughout the inn. As well, there are numerous other sculptural pieces as well as paintings and prints, stained glass lamps and other pieces to please the eye. Sitting rooms - there are two large sitting rooms or "mini art galleries", if you will. Each has plenty of reading if you haven't brought your own. Excellent spot to enjoy a coffee and unwind. Finally the hosts - Kevin and Lesley Wright are super friendly, most gracious and strived to meet our every desire. Highly recommend!

A wonderful, clean, well kept B&B. The hosts Kevin and Leslie are awesome. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The room was beautiful, classy, large, and had a minisplit for air conditioning. The bathroom had a corner shower with great pressure and plenty of hot water. A beautiful old house with gorgeous antiques and artwork, and the pleasure of modern amenities. We haven’t stayed in a B&B in several years, but I don’t remember ever having experienced one as nice as the Lark & Loon.

The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. There is a lot of art displyed throughout the house. The breakfast was not only delicious but the setting was very elegant. The best part was the attention and friendliness of Lesley and Kevin. They are exceptional hosts. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful historic bed and breakfast. The rooms are beautifully designed for the period and very comfortable. The hosts are exceptional with a great wealth of knowledge of the history of the area and this house as well. It was fascinating to hear all about it. The breakfast was impeccably delicious and elegantly served at a beautiful table setting with music playing. The bathroom was beautiful with claw foot tub and everything you needed The entire experience at this Inn is top notch and we highly recommend staying here.

Couple trip to Nova Scotia
Lesley was a wonderful host. Our room was very large and bathroom very clean. Wonderful stay - breakfast was included and was fantastic. Close to downtown walkway and relaxing boardwalk.

The Inn is spectacular, the hosts are incredible and breakfast was to die for...imagine ...fresh home made butter syrup on divine german french toast...seriously!?!? Can't wait to go back...oh yeah, and Annapolis Royal is amazing

First time staying at a bed and breakfast in Canada. Was very pleased with the inn and our room. Very spacious room and private bathroom with a claw tub! Several rooms to relax and chat with other guests. Lots of thoughtful amenities such as water in the room, coffee machine on second floor and more. Our hosts were lovely and informative. And best part was the breakfast! Felt like royalty. Only disappointment was I didn't take pictures to share!

A night in heaven, and breakfast to the moon!
A warm,welcoming arrival to a most amazing Victorian home. Friendly,interesting hosts were helpful and engaging, making stay relaxed and healing. Beautifully appointed room. Immaculate. Award winning chef made breakfast to die for, capping off a perfect visit. Treat yourself to meeting fine people, interested in making your stay memorable. Every inch of home of museum quality. 40 minute nature walk handy. Town steeped in tradition with Fort and Historic gardens to boot. If not enough, get owner talking about his world renowned pottery! He’s had nine lives apparently. Many thanks to a dear couple.
