Charming and spacious house that combines modern comfort and true colonial style in a peaceful residential area, with garden and a beautiful private pool ; with fantastic views to the volcanoes and coffee plantations, at very short distance from wonderful historical sites and downtown Antigua.
Villa Cariño is an elegant and fully equipped two floor house nicely situated within a safe and peaceful residential area at a very short distance from the beautiful historical site of Iglesia del Calvario; away from noise and crowds yet still close to all the wonders Antigua has to offer.

The house beautiful design cleverly connects the comfortable living spaces with the traditional garden, pool, patios and terraces in a seamless fashion; letting you enjoy the relaxing sound of the running fountain and the wonderful Antigua climate.

A beautiful and spacious social area is smartly situated in the center of the 1st floor, including a comfortable living room with cable TV, Netflix and entertainment center, a dinning room with open fireplace, and a big, modern kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, etc.
Also on the first floor you will find:
* A charming Hall, with desk area and a reception dinning room .
* A very comfortable Corridor with fountain and colonial wicker classic living room.
In front of the garden and the pool another beautiful Colonial Corridor with a perfect area with an spacious dinning room and another dining room.
* The master bedroom with King bed, fireplace and its own walk-in closet and spacious bathroom, with direct access to the garden & beautiful private pool.
* 2 bedrooms, one with Queen bed, walk-in closet and private bathroom and the other with 1 single bed.
* A traditional service area with 1 single room with its own bathroom, a "pila" patio, a modern laundry room with washing machine and dryer,, with a direct connection to the garage for easy loading.

On the second floor you'll find:
* A large room with open fire place with 2 full beds and , with direct access to a beautiful terrace facing the volcanoes, and overseeing the garden and outdoor social area.
* 2 more bedrooms with 2 twins beds each one, and one more bathroom.
* 2 Ample solarium and and roof top terrace with comfortable furnitures and beautiful views to the coffee plantations, and with comfortable covered kiosk furnished to enjoy the terrace.
* Garden with comfortable sunbeds and sun umbrela, private pool with outdoor bathroom and shower and a large barbecue area.

The house has a outdoor parking space. If you do not have a car we recommend using taxi or tuc tuc; it should not cost you more than 9-10 USD to be in the town-center in 5min.

The location of the house is ideal to explore Antigua, and also an ideal base to move around and discover the other wonders Guatemala has to offer; such as lake Atitlan, Chichicastenango, the Pacific and Caribbean coasts and, being only 45 minutes away from Guatemala City airport, you can also cover Tikal and the other amazing Mayan sites in the rain forests of Petén.

Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations! From the pictures, we could tell it was very nice. The pictures don’t do it justice! We traveled as an adult family of 6 and had plenty of space. The property was clean and very well maintained. The neighborhood is beautiful. We enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend!

Beautiful Home
This is a magnificent property full of beauty and tranquility. My family and I enjoyed our recent trip and the privacy. Maite was a gracious host and always checking in to see how we were doing even while she was on her own vacation. Alberto and Andrea who help with any issues were very nice and gracious. What can i say about the house other than its comfortable and gorgeous. Everyonee in my family had their own room, I was able to grill a couple of days and the pool was awesome. This place is like a museum and from the outside you wouldn't think that it had that much space. Once you are inside, you see the beauty and appreciate the layout. Full kitchen, nice showers, spacious bedrooms, great wifi, TV, and many places to sit down and lounge and reflect while you are resting. We loved the outside fountain within the house, and the terrace on the second floor. Food can be delivered to the house and taking ubers/taxis to Parque central is a 5-10 minute drive away. Ubers are inexpensive. Overall. The home is cozy and was built with love from what I felt and saw. Lots of detail and thought was given in building it and its something I truly appreciate. Maite- Thank you for letting us stay in your home. We had a great time and we will be back with friends. Saludos y un abrazo. Christian

The Villa Carino was prettier than the pictures posted online. My family had a great time and enjoyed the nice large home in Antigua. Andrea was very helpful and professional in showing us the beautiful home. We will definitely stay again.

Such an amazing property, safe, clean, secure, and very relaxing. The area is very quiet and only about a five minute drive to center of town. Such a cool home. Our family enjoyed the stay very much. Home away from home
We had 5 adults and 3 children, as well as 2 extra adults for half of the stay. The house is warm and inviting, has everything necessary in the kitchen and bathrooms, and is tastefully decorated! Bonus features were the private backyard and pool, as well as the locked gate to the homes with a guard there at all times. Highly recommend this lovely home for anyone visiting Antigua! Every time we stay here it’s wonderful. Close to town. This is a very wonderful house. This house is our prime choice when visiting Guatemala. House keeper is available for cleaning and cooking and does a wonderful Job.

Beautiful home in a secure private neighborhood
Our family just traveled to Antigua to attend a wedding and chose this beautiful house outside Antigua and we were not disappointed. It's a colonial-style home with well-appointed rooms. Lots of quaint gathering spaces and courtyards. The solar-heated pool was a plus. We enjoyed quiet restful evenings. Maite and her husband were so welcoming and helpful. The communication prior to and throughout our visit was superior. She gave us recommendations for trustworthy transportation individual which we used to move around town, The house is in a secure gated community which made us feel safe throughout the stay. I hope to return to Antigua someday soon and will reach out to Maite and hope to stay at this property again. Thank you Maite for going the extra mile to address our needs and communicating with you was impeccable.

Fantastic!
This house was amazing! There were ten of us, and we had more than enough room to be comfortable. The pool and the back yard area was really nice, the kitchen was large and well equipped, and it was a godsend to have laundry. We even found the games and played some Rummikub. The decor is fun and interesting—there is so much to look at; it's like a museum. I can't recommend this place enough.

Quiet and Special Antigua Retreat
Our family of adults stayed at Maite’s home for a wedding in Antigua. Everything we needed was there. The home was stunning and very comfortable. We loved gathering at the pool in the beautiful courtyard. The best part was the responsiveness of our host: she recommended a driver who met us for our very late arrival at the airport and took us directly to the house. On our request she had snacks and a few breakfast items at the house for us - such a huge help. Our host also recommended a cook who shopped for us and made the traditional Antiguan dish, pepian, with us - delicious! The fact that the house was a ten minute Uber trip from Antigua was good and bad - good that we had a safe, comfortable, quiet refuge to return to at the end of the day. The bad - just that you can’t really walk into town. This is a great place to stay with a large family or group of friends.

Spacious, clean, relaxing property with great outdoor pool
Five of us stayed and it met our needs perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms and a choice of beds and en-suite or nearby bathrooms. Security was great. No A/C so fans might have been nice as it was warm to us Americans Great outdoor space. Covered areas with sofas, tables & chairs and in the open 4 loungers with umbrellas. Immaculate pool kept at an ideal temperature. Even an outside shower. Supply of nice beach towels by the pool. Built-in wood fired grill and a supply of wood is in a corner of the garden and we used it to make tortillas. Firestarters might help those not good at lighting wood fires. Plenty of outdoor lighting for either cooking or relaxing. Beds were very comfortable being slightly firmer than too soft. Good size rooms. Netflix was great as was wifi. Bathrooms had basic shampoo & liquid hand soap but no conditioner. Of course, you may well have your own supplies. Extra towel or two would have helped but we used ones from bathrooms not in use, Perfectly adequate top-loading washer and separate dryer is available. You may need to get more detergent. etc, Great to use at any time especially if travelling light The kitchen is adequate but oven was a little challenging at first. Some pans were a little old but not really an issue. We did have to buy coffee and paper towels. Central Park is 1.6 miles away. First part down narrow road with no sidewalk. We've seen books for guest suggestions and that might be worth adding We really, really enjoyed our stay!

Filled with surprises
The residence is located about a 5-10 minute drive to the center of Antigua. It is very tastefully decorated and has plenty of different areas to sit and enjoy the house. We traveled with a 2.5 year old, 4.5 year old, and 8 month old. There were tons of photo ops in the house itself. The only warning I would give is that all of the decorations around the property are impossible to resist for kids to try to pick up. Our most common phrase to the girls was, "do not touch". The host was very responsive, and all of the staff of the complex was very friendly.

Unique property- Excellent for Relaxing with your Family & Friends
This house has a wonderful feel to it. We were in Antigua with family and friends. We enjoyed cooling down in the pool and sitting outside with our breakfast. It is a short distance and an inexpensive Uber ride into Antigua proper- easy to meet up with other friends who were staying in the big hotel there. After dinner in the busy city, we enjoyed coming back to the quiet of the house and the amazing view of the mountains. House is at base of some gorgeous views. I hope this house can be our go-to for Antiqua. Lots of special touches in the house itself. You can tell the owners love their casa.
