Built above the original Blue Moon Carriage House from about 1900, this Loft style cottage unit is full of detail designed to make your stay the perfect Downtown Apalachicola Get-A-Way!
Welcome!!!
From the moment you ascend the stairs and open the 100+ year old front door, you know this will be the first of a tradition of your visits to the Moon! This is a one bedroom / one bath Loft with a kitchenette & eating area looking out to your own personal Bridge balcony. The Loft was built using true southern restoration pieces like an antique farm sink and 100+ year old cub-bards from the McDonald homestead in South Georgia. Reclaimed cypress beams accent the sliding barn door which is also a refinished piece which is about 150 years old as well. The shabby chic mantel is also from a home in the original neighborhood of the legendary 'Doc Holliday' who was from Lowndes County (just over the Georgia/Florida line).
While history is all around, the modern-day oversized Garden Tub bath awaits you to ease away the time and relax. Then 'above it all' are the huge skylights constructed through the tin ceiling. From the ultra plush pillowtop bed, You can lie back and count the stars or watch the clouds roll by after an afternoon restful retreat.
So, whether you are returning from an eco tour up the river, a day at the beach, fishing or kayaking on the bay, a stroll or golf cart ride through the oak lined historic district, shopping around the corner, or dining at the one of the amazing waterfront cafes just steps from your door, The Blue Moon Carriage House Loft is your perfect home away from home for your best Apalachicola experience!
