Stay at Retreat during your next visit to the Redwood Coast. This gorgeous 3 bedroom Arcata vacation home was newly finished in April 2019! Built in 2005, this home is newer with a fresh and relaxing feel. Villa Retreat has all the necessities for Redwood Coast Adventure.

The living area is newly decorated with a calm and inviting aesthetic and plenty of seating. It features games, Smart TV with cable, wireless internet and beautiful photography. The kitchen in fully equipped with all the necessary amenities and opens to the dining and living area. There are 3 bedrooms. One has one queen and the other has one double. Each are quiet, beautifully decorated and have all new beds in 2019. The Master has a new king bed and private bath. There's also plenty of parking and a private deck off the living and kitchen area. Also, pets are welcome and there is a fenced yard in that back for play time!

Villa Retreat is located about 15 blocks from downtown Arcata where you'll find shopping, restaurants and the Saturday Farmers Market. It's a quick drive to Cal Poly Humboldt and Arcata Redwood Park. Arcata is centrally located on the Redwood Coast just 20 minutes from the gorgeous beaches in Trinidad, 40 minutes from Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, 10 minutes from old town Eureka and 40 minutes from the Avenue of the Giants. Stay and enjoy the Redwood Coast during your next visit on the redwood Coast!

We were going leased with the layout, location and size of home. It was great for visiting our college student. Only thing that would have made it better were if kitchen had a meat thermometer, foil or plastic wrap or even some containers to store leftovers during visit. Otherwise, it was great and we would recommend!

Overall property was great. Just 2 things to mention- the dishwasher was not emptied but we just treated it like a cupboard. The master shower head is broken so if you don’t have it straight, water spurts out the top all over the bathroom. We left it straight to see the issue you’ll need to angle it down.

Great Arcata house but a dog has lived here.
Great house. Roomy. Garage. Kitchen was decently stocked. Our only complaint is that there is dog hair and very clearly a dog has lived here recently. White dog hair ended up on our packs. Our son is allergic to dogs so we weren’t psyched. Other than that it was a great place in the Arcata bottoms.

I enjoyed the fact that the house was well equipped, comfortable, and clean. The front door code was problematic and I ended up having to contact the housekeeper who told me how to access an actual key. I would suggest offering renters the key option right up front to avoid the frustration of not being able to open the front door. Other than that, I really liked the house and would rent it again.

Great spot close to downtown Arcata
Brought some friends to visit my CalPoly student. This house was clean, conveniently located, great parking, great kitchen, easy check in. We had a blast hiking, shopping the Saturday market, hunting for agates at Agate Beach, visiting Sue-meg State Park. Will definitely be back!

Nice house, perk being dog friendly. Check in process was easy. Good location, walking distance to downtown, felt safe. House could use some add'l amenities to make it 5 star vs 4 star. Essentials in my mind include coffee filters, foil/saran wrap which were missing. We bought and left for the next person. Some cozy blankets would be nice too while watching tv, we just had to bundle up with our sweatshirts/jackets.

I will try my best to avoid VRBO rentals in the future
This was one of the most demeaning experience renting through VRBO, which I have been doing with my family for years. I have had one other previous experience with Vacasa before which was sub-optimal, and I had thought that was an outlier. However, after this experience, I will not rent myself, and if asked, will strongly discourage others as well. I do not want to spend more energy describing the issues, I have attempted to do so to the customer interfaces I have interacted with and the experience has been infuriating at worse, and unsatisfactory at best. There are enough options outside of Vacasa, and am glad the properties that are rented through you are marked clearly so I can avoid them in the future.

Immaculate and comfortable stay
My family and I stayed here during a visit to Cal Poly Humboldt. We were immediately impressed with how incredibly clean the property was. Checking in was a bit difficult. Vacasa was supposed to send us an email with check-in information but we didn't know that. We arrived at 11p after a long drive, so trying to figure everything out was frustrating. We got the door code and Wi-Fi info after calling Vacasa. Despite that trouble, this vacation rental is still a 5-star place. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking gear, utensils, and basics (oil, spices, etc.). We didn't eat out once during our 3-night stay! My only suggestions are a medium sized sauce pan (something in between the small sauce pan and large stock pot) and a few extra trash bags. Having access to a washer and dryer cut down on the amount of clothing we had to bring with us as well as gave me the opportunity to bring home all clean clothes. The beds and linens were comfortable and there was plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child. Thank you, Michelle (owner), for sharing your space with us!

Exactly what we wanted
Great base for our Redwood Coast vacation. Arcata is charming, neighborhood felt safe, and our 2 kids and 3 dogs were all very comfortable. Backyard was perfect for the Doggos and each kid had a nice size room. Beds were comfortable enough and there were plenty of dishes and towels.

I loved this home for its layout, furnishings, and features. We stayed for our granddaughter’s graduation and it was a perfect location to organize our celebration. The home was well stocked with essential needs and the beds were Very comfortable…not hard and not too soft! We could walk to a local bakery in the morning and get tasty treats and it was also very close to the Holly Yashi store. While we were in Arcata we visited Trinidad and the Avenue of the Giants. This home was well located to explore the hidden treasures of this area. We also enjoyed the puzzles that were provided and even added one that we brought from home and completed while we were there. In all it was a perfect place for our family. Thanks so much🥰

Good home base for family adventure
Clean and well stocked and welcoming to our family of 5 and our dog. We had a great home base for exploring Trinidad, the Redwoods, Arcata, and just relaxing in the house. Lots of great kitchen supplies! Our only complaints were: more blankets, more sponges and dishtowels for actually using the kitchen!

The property was very good for our needs. Centrally located to the Redwood activities we wanted. The only things that could have been better would be an outside grill for cooking and a hot tub. The description said one room had 2 twin beds when it really had one queen (almost was a problem).
