Loudest hotel I have ever been in. Yes, it’s on a “lively” square, but what must be clarified is that by lively they mean music, bongo drums, clapping, whistling, and shouting til the wee hours of the morning. I couldn’t sleep of course but I did find it charming in its own way; however, what was not charming were the garbage truck and drivers picking up trash through the square at 6:45 am, the workers clanking cans and shouting back and forth to each other. The hotel was stiflingly hot but has no air con. I paid extra for a room with a double bed and a bunk bed, planning for my daughter to sleep in the bunk. But the ceiling fan doesn’t do any good for the bunks so she slept with me in the double bed. 5 floors, no elevator. Lights in hallways not working properly so you often carry your bags in the dark. One of the main employees - an exceptionally kind and customer service oriented woman - told me I could find another place for our second night and they would let me out of my reservation with no charge. So I made another reservation. However, upon checkout the male manager said that what the woman said didn’t count and that I had to pay regardless. I don’t have enough space to go into the details of how he lied to me, but trust me when I say that this guy is no good. The other hotel that I made a reservation at turned out to be cleaner, way nicer, quiet, had air-conditioning, was equally well located, and was €45 cheaper! My advice: don’t even bother with this place.
