Summer fun is hear at this guest favorite family-cabin that is the BEST option if you're bringing the puppos to the mountains. What's our super-power?? Besides well supplied cabin, guests (and their dogs!) LOVE the enclosed yard area for doing zoomies, chasing balls, roasting s'mores and more.
2 Dog Lodge is a fun retreat in the wooded neighborhood of Camp Connell. Every season offers something special. The cabin is especially family friendly and "dog functional" with level yard with low-fence is great for everyone to play.
The cabin is located to access everything from Arnold to Bear Valley!
The Space:
2 Dog Lodge is ideal for small groups and families who want a quiet escape in the mountains and are bringing the fur-babies along for the adventure. Check out our social content and reviews ! Throughout winter we stock firewood, kindling, fire-starters and old newsprint so you can easily keep the cabin cozy and warm ~ wood heat is good heat :)
Downstairs you'll find a kitchen with everything needed to cook complete meals, plus a comfortable living room & dining setup. There's a bedroom with king bed, walk-in closet and dedicated workspace downstairs, plus full bath and laundry. Upstairs you'll find a spacious bedroom with 2 queen beds, huge closet, porta-crib and dog beds which you can use, plus attached bathroom with shower.
55" smart TVs in the living room and the upstairs bedroom will keep everyone entertained when outdoors adventures wrap up. The wifi is fast enough to stream or work-from-cabin too.
Access to the cabin is super-easy: level and flat entrance from the county road, plus parking for up to 3 cars just steps from the front porch. We have a small deck with seating and a Charbroiler gas bbq. Patio furniture, Adirondack chairs, a gas fire-pit and a redwood picnic table give you numerous options for how and where to enjoy the property.
**Summer updates: we've added a propane fire-table and a redwood picnic table to the yard, so be sure to bring marshmallows for toasting**
Guest Access:
You'll access the cabin with a smart-lock. We'll send you the code and wifi password before you arrive. The entire cabin and yard is yours to enjoy! Keep in mind that you're in the mountains and weather, critters and terrain can surprise you at any time - even in the fenced yard area. Don't leave children or pets unattended, please.
The Neighborhood:
Quiet forested mountain neighborhood at 5000' elevation. Easy access from Hwy 4 east of Dorrington, just minutes away from high alpine adventures year around.
Getting Around:
Parking for the cabin is off-street, we have a level and driveway with easy access from the county road. Plow services throughout the winter help maintain access.
Snow and ice: at 5000' we can get snow and/or freezing temperatures any time between October and May. During the winter it is best to always carry chains and come up in an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle with all-season or snow tires.
Other Things to Note:
You'll lose cell service along Hwy 4 most of the way from Murphy's to the cabin. **Be sure to download your check in instructions before you lose service**
House rules will be emailed with your reservation confirmation.
Interaction with Guests:
As hosts we are available (remotely) to provide support or answer questions most days 7am - 8pm. We have local cleaners and support personnel in the event of something seriously wrong and will do our best to remedy any situation that impacts your stay. Generally, the cabin creates a very independent experience for guests who enjoy an escape to the mountains.
