New Rio Tiny Home w HotTub, 16 miles from Ski Valley and 2 miles to Hot Springs

Reconnect with nature at "Big Little Hideaway". Our gorgeous property is minutes away from hikes, paddle boarding, hot springs, skiing, and endless roads and beauty to explore. Taos and Arroyo Secco are just 15 minutes away where you can enjoy great food, galleries and shopping, and Taos Ski Valley is 30 minutes away.

"Rio" is filled with colorful southwestern decor and high quality bedding. You'll love the giant picture window, private deck and gazing at the stars at night.
The space
"Big Little Hideaway" is a quiet and secluded 5 acre lot with 3 vacation rentals to choose from. Each unit is spaced 50+ feet away from each other and have their own private deck, epic mountain views and a fire pit. It's a perfect nature retreat for a private get away or rent all 3 for a family reunion!

The Rio is brand new (built in 2022) with all the modern conveniences: mini split AC/Heat, plus a furnace for those super cold winter nights, a three top stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer and a small bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. A tankless water heater allows for a nice long shower.

It's always fun to bring dirt bikes, motorcycles, or mountain bikes as you can ride around the property or just down the dirt roads if you like. Whether you've been dreamin' of a tiny home and want to try it on for size or are just looking for a unique, comfy home away from home in Taos, you've found it! You get the feeling of camping with all the comforts of home.

Friendly, well-behaved, and trained dogs are welcome. Pets must be added to the reservation as we do charge a fee. We love pets but we do not love or appreciate pet hair and dander on the linens nor does the next guest. Please refer to the "additional rules" on our pet policy.
Guest access
Feel free to wonder anywhere on the property especially at sunrise and sunset. We've created little perches at the best spots so feel free to hike up the little trails as our property line meets the top of the mountain.

Each unit has their own designated parking space.

Kids love it here too and parents love the 8 foot berm protecting them from the main road! Plenty of room to explore, play hide-and-seek, and ride bikes.

Please adhere to a 9PM quiet time unless you're renting entire the property.
Other things to note
A bathing suit and some water shoes for the hot springs are a great thing to bring.
A headlamp is handy to have at night.
Bring your firewood or a $10 donation to use our supply.

Nice little hidden gem
This was our first vrbo experience & Doug & Jayme were great about answering All If my questions. We had a little snafu with the reservation after arriving but thank goodness Jayme handled it with grace and made us feel super comfortable. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful and Peaceful
We had such a wonderful stay in this tiny home experience. This would not have been our usual choice for a vacation stay, but I’m so glad we did. Good to get out of our comfort zone and experience the beauty and serenity of this area. Loved it!

Great property, great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Big Little Hideaway in El Prado/Taos area. The tiny home was great and everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The unit was small but provided everything needed for the 2 of us and our small dog. Unit was clean, owner was extremely helpful. The location was great as well. The rental is one of several on the property. Located just 15-20 minutes north of Taos and a short 35 minutes to Red River. Centrally located and made our time in the Enchanted Circle very convenient. Hosts were great and provided excellent communication before, during, and after our stay. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Taos.

Great little getaway!
My husband and I had a fabulous and memorable stay in the Rio tiny home. It was cozy, clean, and peaceful with the best views! We explored the property in our down time, which was nice for a short hike. I just can't put into words how much we enjoyed our time at the compound. Hot tub views were breath taking. We will definitely book again. Actually considering renting all three tiny homes for a family gathering. Btw, the hosts were very responsive and friendly.

Perfect Taos Getaway
What a great find! This tiny home has all you need to feel tucked away in nature, but with all the comforts of home. We loved the hot tub, the secluded spot, the fire pit and proximity to Taos. We used it as a home base to explore Jemez Springs as well. Had a great Time — we will be back for sure and hope to rent out the whole compound with our friends and family. Thank you for a great visit!

SO FUN!
My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary and we had such a fun getaway. It was in such a cool area, felt great to unplug and just spend some time together. Jayme and Doug are so great with communication and made everything so easy. The tiny home was so cute, clean, and cozy. We also went down to the John Dunn bridge and then hiked out to the hot springs... what a great weekend adventure. I definitely recommend this place if you just want to unwind and reconnect with nature! We had a blast!
