Originally a pole barn, Creekside Studio has served as workspace for a potter and, later, a glassmaker. Today, it’s an inviting living space and just what you need: a well-situated home base for exploring western North Carolina and a great place to relax when you’re done!
Bring your hiking shoes, road or mountain bike, canoe or kayak, and other essential toys. Creekside Studio is near the Pisgah National Forest border and about 7 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Access the Parkway via scenic, winding Highway 151—a gorgeous drive or challenging (but rewarding!) bicycle climb. Once you reach the Parkway, you’re just 3 miles from the Mount Pisgah trailhead and a 1.5-mile hike from the finest panoramic views around at 5,721 feet. A large, locked storage/laundry room at the studio can secure your gear when you're not adventuring. And if you seek a different kind of action, the studio is a 25-minute drive to the funky bustle of downtown Asheville where you’ll find plenty of interesting people, arts, history, and more craft beverages than you’ve ever dreamed of!
Creekside Studio sits on 13.5 acres of forested land along a dead-end, gravel road. Here, you can sit in the Hot Springs hot tub on the 740-square-foot deck, count the stars in a very dark sky, and take in the sounds of…nothing, except the creatures of the night and the whisper of the creek below the front yard. The spacious deck provides ample room to grill, dine al fresco, and relax in the rocking chairs with a glass of something delicious. Just up the trail from the studio is a traditional Finnish-style, wood-fired sauna designed and built by the owners featuring wood harvested from the property and reclaimed materials. Light the fire, lie back, sweat out your cares, and then plunge into the cool, spring-fed trout pond. It’s electrifying and so good for the body and soul. An outdoor shower with hot and cold water will facilitate the transition from sauna to pond to hot tub. A set of robes in the bedroom closet will surely please; just bring your slippers.
The studio’s open yet cozy space is perfect for two. The kitchen contains all the tools you’ll need to create your favorite meals or treats. In the winter months, you can enjoy the glow of a warm fire in the woodstove.
You may decide to unplug upon arrival, but, if not, free WiFi will keep you connected with the outside world. Not that you’ll need it, but electronic entertainment options include a Roku TV with Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Hulu; a Bluetooth-enabled stereo with CD player; and DVD player.
We’d love to welcome you to Creekside Studio.
