Our 25th anniversary trip to Atlanta was almost ruined by a cancelled concert, but our stay at The American made up for it. It’s a beautiful hotel and the service we received from Nicole was amazing! the staff were amazing, although my room was not ready for checkin the staff were plesant and helpful. the floor and wall in the bathroom where cracked and uneven leading me to believe there are so e structural issues on the property that should be addressed. And I was put in a handicapped room because of room shortages.

We had a really great stay at this hotel! Staff were helpful and friendly and could answer any questions we had about the area, it was easy to walk to Starbucks and have coffee in the park in the morning. The pool was super cute and one of the highlights for us!

Upon the 30-minute wait to check in we finally got our keys for our room. We paid for a Deluxe King Bedroom with pool view and balcony. We went to our room to find out it was the wrong room with no view. We proceeded to grab our belongings and tried to call front desk. Phone did not work, and the room was absolutely filthy. Got to the front desk. Instead of them discussing the room issue with us prior to checking in they told us at this time. We went to our second room. Upon entering the room there was sewage leaking from the toilet that my wife stepped in. AGAIN, we pack up our belongings and try to call front desk...PHONE DID NOT WORK AGAIN. 3rd room was filthy and had to be recleaned. We were offered a cheap free breakfast for two?!! No manager ever came to discuss this issue or give a refund for our two-hour mess we put up with after a very long drive. Save your money and stay away from American Hotel!!! HORRIBLE.

I cannot truly rate this property becaue I didn't get to stay there. I notifed the hotel that my flight was very delayed due to the Microsoft issue and I wanted to let them know since I wasn't sure when I'd arrive, but it would be late. When I finally got there, about 1:45 and so ready to get into bed, I was told my room had been given away and the hotel was sold out. The night auditor just said, "Sorry." So from there, I had to figure out a new plan and found myself riding across Atlanta in an uber to stay with a friend around three a.m. and was so thrown off for my plans with trying to sort out the rest of my stay. I was grateful that Expedia got me a refund the next day.
