I like that the Wingate hotel looks attractive, and you get the privacy you want/need. I also, like the idea that they’re very close to one of the mall stadium, other hotels and a lot of shopping center and fast food and restaurant. So there are lots of places to go if you and your family are bored. The pool was shut down at Wingate hotel by health departments and there was note on the pool door from them. One disgusting thing I saw right away when I came to checked in at the front desk, was a baby roach crawling all over the front desk counter. I wanted to scream so loud and leave out of there, but I had already made my reservation online through Expedia the day before. I couldn’t cancel because the time to cancel had passed, and they would have charged me for one day. I was already there with my kids and they were tired and ready to sleep.

Pros: Staff was kind and accommodating, daily breakfast was good and free. No fee for parking. The common areas were clean and accommodating. Cons: There were signs of mold in the bathroom, the room always had a wet feel to it, the carpet was damp daily as if there was a leak somewhere. The bathroom mirror was broken, the bathroom need renovation.

The hotel itself isn't bad - just an older location. Room was comfortable overall. Bed relatively comfortable. Continental Breakfast on Sunday was pretty good - Waffles, cereal, bread, bagels, fruit. Monday was a different story and quite embarrassing: Waffles, cereal & Fruit ONLY (Bananas were already brown, and oranges soft). Come on...offer the same you had on Sunday on weekdays...some people like to have a bagel, toast, and even some yogurt.

Check in was great, we had a 2 bedroom suite but there's only TVs in the bedrooms. The king size bed was not comfy, needed more outlets by nightstand. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was provided and it was dove cucumber which my family and I liked because it was dove so it was for sensitive skin and not highly fragranced

I just checked out of the hotel and this is my HONEST opinion. The hotel is not in too bad of a condition, the room was outdated but keep in mind how much you’re paying per night. The area is overall safe compared to its neighboring areas, my car was not broken into, nor did it happen to anyone during our stay. My advice is park your vehicle near your window to keep an eye on it, if it matters that much to you. Breakfast was your traditional options, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The staff was very nice and helpful no complaints about them at all. Be advised there is a $50 deposit for potential damages once you check in, the staff member said it’ll be returned back if everything is okay. My only complaint was the drain to the shower not draining fast enough and even then wasn’t that big of a deal considering how much we paid. This hotel is conveniently near to the Coca-Cola Roxy and Truist park which is where my wife and I visited for a concert, we are visiting from Florida. Also big plus was having Waffle House literally right next to the hotel. Theres also a great Mexican restaurant near by that we loved!
