A gem of a house on Lake Superior
This was an exceptional house! It has a great layout and was very comfortable for a group. The host was responsive and helpful. We especially loved the access to Lake Superior, quiet location and proximity to Houghton and Ontonagon. We would definitely book this house again and recommend it to others.

Host sent us a very detailed message about the home with his contact information prior to check in. Home was very comfortable and the surrounding area is very scenic and saw a variety of animals. Sitting around the fire pit on the beach at the end of the days was outstanding. Enjoyed our stay.

Family Vacation
One word, “WONDERFUL!” Our family picks a new location in the U.P. each summer to vacation at for a week. We were not let down with this vacation rental. The waves and beach of Lake Superior entertained our grandchildren everyday for hours! The house was spectacular. Beds were so comfortable, the kitchen was a dream! It was well stocked with anything we needed. The large mud room was an added touch filled with beach toys, extra chairs for the beach, and lots of beach towels! We found this location to be convenient to many adventures. The little Farm market (Grego’s) on Covered Road 5 minutes away was a gem! The Chutes and Ladders park in Houghton was a sure hit! Ice cream store on the premises!! We will forever have this place etched in our memories. As will our family!

Keeweenaw Vacation
This was our second time staying here and we had a great time! The beach/water was perfect for the kids, they had a blast swimming and playing in the sand. Towards the end of the trip they enjoyed watching the waves made by the wind while the adults enjoyed the sunsets. The house is a great place to stay while enjoying the sites of the Keeweenaw. We lucked out and were visiting during the Mineral Days - our kids had a blast at the mineral show and rock swap. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect (but for some bad luck)
Beautiful property, just as described and pictured! We had a wonderful stay. Our only passing discomfort came from the unusually high temperatures during the week we stayed. Many homes in this area don't have air conditioning because they so rarely need it. Without A/C, the afternoon we arrived was hot and stuffy in the house. (We quickly got back in our car and went to the blissfully cold Walmart for groceries. I've never been so grateful to be at a Walmart!- ha) By the evening, the temperatures had cooled down and with the windows open and fans blowing, we were perfectly comfortable. The rest of the week was also hotter than normal temperatures, but really only late afternoon and we managed fine. The views from the back windows were gorgeous, we enjoyed the lake both from in the house as well as down at the beach each night. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed our time in the upper peninsula very much. Thank you!

Sunset Drive review
The cabin was a perfect fit for our family and trip. It was perfectly situated to be about an hour away from our adventures in the Keweenaw Penisula and Copper Harbor and west to the Porcupine Mountains. Also, the beach was quiet and peaceful. The allowance of one dog also a great fit for us.

Perfect home for our stay
This home was beautiful and perfect for our stay in this area. Everything was as pictured and the home was filled with all the extras we appreciate from a week thought out rental. Supplies for the kitchen, blankets and beach towels, a designated place to enjoy the sunset on the beach. Check in/out was easy and Michael answered my question immediately. We enjoyed exploring the Keweenaw peninsula and checked out several beaches, went on a boat tour with Keweenaw Boat tours and a land tour with Yooper Steve. Both we highly recommend. The Quincy Mine Tour was educational and everyone enjoyed it. We had 4 full days to explore and enjoyed all we got to do. Book this house and make the trip to the UP!

Perfect relaxation on Lake Superior
Our family trip to Winter Carnival was made complete with our stay here. Beautiful views of Lake Superior out the back and privates woods view out the front. The home was comfortable throughout with squishy couches (I mean this as a good thing!) and super comfy beds. Fireplace got lots of use. We can’t think of anything that was missed or needed. Wi-Fi was awesome as we did have a few work zoom meetings as well as need to stream various sports, etc. Definitely plan on returning!

Fabulous home on Lake Superior. Beautiful towns nearby. We came to snowmobile but weather did not cooperate. Owner left many pamphlets which helped so we instead discovered beautiful hiking trails. Must see canyon gorge and McLean state park and Hungarian falls So much to do We also just enjoyed the cozy log cabin

Beautiful cabin/busy road
This cabin is clean and spacious, with attention to detail in décor and amenities. The kitchen is large, the living room comfortable. The host, Michael, was very responsive. Given the description, location and photos we had anticipated a private rural retreat, however the home is situated directly next to the road, with two of three bedrooms facing the road. We stayed 6 nights experiencing a significant amount of vehicle traffic outside the bedroom windows starting before 7 a.m. as well as some late night traffic. The surprisingly frequent number of vehicles passing by detracted from the solitude we were seeking, however, this may not be the norm, as we saw what seemed to be construction work in the neighborhood. The kitchen/dining area also has windows facing the road which, although providing a lovely view, detract from a sense of privacy as you are exposed to anyone passing by. The beach is close and a wonderful place to enjoy sunset. We had booked based on the photos showing a wide clearing in the trees from the house down to the beach, giving an open view to the beach and lake from the living room. At this time these views from the house have been significantly obscured by vegetation growth blocking most of the beach view and some of the lake view thus turning what had been a wide open space to the beach into a narrow path through the overgrowth.Although disappointed by the vehicles and obstructed views, overall this is a lovely home from which to explore the peninsula.

A view of the big lake
We enjoyed our stay very much. The view was excellent from the main living area. Kitchen supplies were abundant and appreciated. The basket with s'mores ingredients was a very nice touch! The property was off the beaten path and very quiet. We did enjoy an evening around the fire pit on the beach. I did send a couple of messages to the property manager and he was very quick to respond which was appreciated.
