The Love Palace includes 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, large living room, full kitchen with an island, washer (detergent provided) and dryer, ac/furnace, wood burning stove for additional heat and ambience, beautiful back deck overlooking Love Lake w/ a charcoal grill. Free WIFI and Satellite TV! Linens provided for the king & queen beds ONLY, one room has a twin bunk & double bed. Two futons in living room, one is a queen other a full. Extra blankets, pillows and towels provided as well. Pack and Play available upon request - $20. If you are coming up to ATV or snowmobile, we ask that you DO NOT ride machines on the property but can ride from property to trails.

Great cabin and overall property!
We stayed at the Love Palace cabin in early July and really enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was very clean and the perfect size for our family of five. We had plenty of space for local family to visit without feeling cramped. We loved the direct private lake access which kept our kids entertained especially given the amenities (beach, floating diving platforms, equipment rentals, and basketball court). The outdoor firepit was great as well. A few things that could make a stay even more enjoyable would be the addition of a dishwasher (spent quite a bit of time hand washing dishes), providing bedding for the twin bunk beds (an inconvenience for a traveler given the low cost to provide as part of the rental), and providing charcoal for the grill. All relatively minor in the grand scheme, but just a few things that could really enhance the ease of a stay! :)

Excellent stay at Northwinds Adventure at the "Love Palace"...Plenty of room for the family to relax and hang out, play games, etc...Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals...wifi worked great...plenty of towels in the bathrooms...fireplace was a bonus, too cold to spend time outside, so I cannot speak to lake/beach amenities, about a 10 minute drive to MTU...overall great stay, would recommend, would stay again. Thank you!

Our Stay we made the best of our stay without snow. Had a lot of laughs, a little hungover, and even ran into Lical Joey Jackson. Carl and Michelle are awesome and there property is beautiful.

Great setting!
This was my 4th stay at Northwinds Adventures cabins. Very peaceful setting on a private lake. Away from town, and still a convenient drive to Houghton or Hancock. Michelle and Karl are great hosts. Very responsive communication.

Comfortable cabin
A few more amenities would have been nice. Shampoo, body wash, salt and pepper, coffee but overall a wonderful place to stay! Not a big deal. A mid weight blanket would be nice in the summer. Coffee machine was a bit leaky and one side of the toaster didn’t work. Nothing major at all. The lake and facility was a beautiful and peaceful retreat to connect with old friends. The owners were wonderful and Kris is fantastic.

We loved our stay! Everyone in the area is so nice, the house was amazing and in such a great location. Close enough to make a run to town but still off in its own space. We would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants a great get away!

We have stayed at this property several times and every single stay has been perfect. The cabins are spacious, well-appointed, and VERY clean and the owners are always quick to respond to any questions. There is just no room for improvement -- we will keep coming back!

Beautiful Cabin - authentic UP North
Great cabin, awesome up north feel with a perfect amount of space for a large group. Very clean, nicely furnished and it was everything we needed. The only (very slight) negative is, without good snow it’s a bit tough to get to the snowmobile trails, I blame that on Mother Nature. Lol.

The renting and check in/out process was very easy. Very clean home & property with several accommodations. House had everything we needed to cook each night. The beach was a plus. Not as secluded as appears & as some other rentals we’ve had but overall was a wonderful home and property!

Perfect Family Getaway
We loved the cabin and peaceful lake. It was perfect for our family of 6. If we weren't enjoying the lake or the nearby sites, we were inside playing games and completing a puzzle. Definitely a place we would return to.

Great trip to Houghton for MTU hockey camp.
Close to everything in town/MTU. Nice clean, private cabin. Kids enjoyed the lake and adults enjoyed quiet, relaxing evenings on the porch and along the lake. Cabin had everything needed for a nice week in the UP.

Beautiful family getaway for our family of 7.
We stayed at the Love Palace cabin. Not only was there every amenity you would need but everything was spotless and comfortable. We have 5 older children, so if you have more couples I would say 2 couples and 4 children could fit here comfortably. Unfortunately our stay was cooler and we had more rain than expected but we got one day of use of the lake and it was fun and beautiful. Downtown Houghton and grocery stores are a quick 10 min drive away. The cabin provides a book of ideas of things to do near by from hiking to all the beaches and more. It was a great family experience and we would love to come back soon!

We were looking for a place for 6 people. We wanted quiet, clean, with a lake and fire pit. We hit the jackpot here and plan to recommend them to all our friends! We'll definitely book again when we're able to make it up to Houghton again.

Lovely Anniversary Getaway
My husband and I decided to take a short getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A coworker suggested the UP/Keweenaw Peninsula, and after searching for lodging, I discovered the Love Palace listing. The cottage is lovely and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The appliances were up to date and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glassware, and pantry items. We had a fire in the outdoor fire pit one evening and also utilized the wood stove on a few cool evenings. The cabin was centrally located for the sight seeing we wanted to do. In all, we put on a total of 1,447 miles in our four nights there, including our round trip travel from home in Whitewater, Wisconsin. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Michelle and Carl, but Michelle was prompt to reply to an inquiry I made via text. The lake is quiet and we loved sitting outside in the evenings and enjoying the peaceful beauty. We loved our trip and would definitely stay again when we visit in the future!
