Room was comfortable and warm, Staff was friendly and hospitable. If I make my way back to Auckland, Will highly consider staying here again. Only downside (and I know its not necessarily the fault of the hotel) was that it was noisy some nights due to the bars and clubs over the streets but overall, was a great place to stay! Highly recommend

This hotel is not recommended at all. Dark tiny rooms akin to a cell - and I was assured we had a deluxe room which we paid extra for. They charge an extra $100 bond to cover minibar etc use. There was nothing in the minibar! We also paid for the breakfast option - and they promptly charged us again for the breakfast. Not only unprofessional but untrustworthy. You can do much better elsewhere.

The hotel is sub-standard for most Americans. I knew that I was getting a small room. I didn’t mind that. Finding out that there wasn’t any air conditioning was a shock. The room was very hot when I got there. I had to turn off the heater and it was unbearable for hours. In the mornings and early afternoons I would just sweat a lot. They have a ventilation system where you’re supposed to keep the window open, but it isn’t good if it’s hot outside or the sun heats up the shades. WiFi is bad and their cybersecurity is bad. I ended up getting a virus on my laptop. I did get sun on my windows, but my view was a wall about 8 feet away. That’s it. There didn’t seem to be many customers. If you aren’t full, put them up higher. Or if they’re staying there for a while. The only good thing is the location to nightlife. Lastly, the worst part is that they try and hold $100 incidentals per night upon checking. I was there five nights and they wanted to hold around $330 American. When I wasn’t prepared to have that held. Be careful visiting here. I don’t know if it was a scam. I told them that I couldn’t and they never brought it up again. Even the agent that checked me in. I travel a lot and like to check out local TV a bit. They don’t have a decent TV deal. I couldn’t really see local broadcasts. Just some streaming service. They offer Netflix and others, but you have to use your account and that’s a security risk. Plus most companies don’t allow you to view outside of the country.

Looks like the construction has finished. Staff are lovely. Check-in software seems a bit clunky. Rooms are nice. Apart from the single rooms, very small, and walls thin. Great location, just off K road. A few wilson parking options nearby. Overall great value.

We didnt like the fact we had to wait 20minutes upon arrival to get to our room as there was only one lift in use. When we walked in our room there were 2 staff members sitting in our room talking, the room was still unfinished. There was only 1 curtain when there was meant to be 2. And the bathroom still had tape from paint as well as paint splattered on the wall of the sliding door. The shower floor was sticky from tape residue and the drain for the shower didnt fit so it flooded the bathroom floor. Ontop of this we were advised the bed was a queen when it was only a double to which was very firm and uncomfortable. We overheard staff talking about giving us one of the two nights free for the inconvenience after we advised them about the condition of our room on the first day. However the full amount got charged to us anyway.

I had an excellent time at this hotel! I got there on their opening day, and the staff treated me like a rock star the whole time. Absolutely loved the service, the restaurant (Collage), the comfy library with plush sofas and great books, the outdoor bar -- just lovely and visually pleasing. I just can't say enough about how personable, friendly, professional and helpful everyone was. The location just of Karangahape Road was pretty central and quite interesting, offering lots of food options from backpacker grease-bomb to fine French dining. The CBD and harbour are walking distance, or you can catch the bus right up Queen Street or grab one of the ubiquitous Beam scooters (my favorite). My one area of less than complete delight was the room decor. It was spotless and brand new, and had a kitchenette, table, and small sofa, so all that was awesome. But the choice for decor was not my style at all -- very dark blue, black and brown walls and fixtures, so it felt like being in a black box. I liked the industrial chic idea, but SO DARK, OMG. The room was also a little cramped, but for the price I can't complain. I felt like I couldn't take my partner there when he met me in AKL later because of the dark, claustrophobic vibe. (I was solo on my first swing through the city.) At least put some bright art on the walls or something, please! Overall, very solid value, fantastic service, funky neighborhood near the center of things, and comfortable, well-designed public spaces.

Property was dirty when we arrived and shower hadn’t been cleaned properly. The rooms look they have been built with speed and not quality, paint missing in parts and some walls exposed on door seals. Also rest of property is still under construction, so you are woken up at 7am to the sound of a builders radio and banging. Paid a lot for the stay due to events on at the weekend in the city, definetly wasn’t worth the money!

The hotel was okay. The room was compact, painted dark blue so it felt like a dark cell. My friends room was less claustrophobic. It was clean & had all the necessary stuff. The opening window was tiny so may be a bit hot on a hot night. Very close to K road & lots of places to eat. The hotel charged a $100 to my credit card. They promised to refund it immediately when I checked out & I'm still awaiting the refund 32 hours later, no response to my email. Not impressed!
