The Villino at Cypress Ridge Estate

The Villino (or little villa) at Cypress Ridge Estate is set on a 22 acre working vineyard and olive grove situated on the slopes of “vineyard valley” with absolutely spectacular 180-degree northern sea views over Onetangi Bay and on towards Great Barrier, the Coromandel and outer gulf islands.
The Mediterranean style villa is nestled amongst brightly coloured terraced gardens, fruit and olive trees with lovely outdoor areas (including a spa pool and barbeque) for our guests to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and privacy of the estate.

The Villino has one queen bedroom, a full bath with bathtub and a small open plan kitchen/living area with wood burning stove. Large bi-fold doors open the house to the terraces and breathtaking sea views creating a beautiful open space.

Our guests are welcome to explore the estate… have a walk through the olive grove and vineyard, enjoy the harvest from our large kitchen garden, find fresh eggs in the hen house, tramp through an acre of native bush with several 1000 year old Puriri trees or picnic in the shade of huge Pohutukawas overlooking our neighboring vineyards.

The property shares boundaries with several award winning vineyards and restaurants including Miro/Casita Miro, Stonyridge, Te Motu and Obsidian… making spectacular wine and food a short stroll away. A 10-minute walk down the hill leads to picturesque Onetangi beach and it’s 2.5 kilometers of white sand and a further 10-minutes down the beach leads to the local pub.

Come and experience the peace and quality of a country lifestyle combined with a beach holiday… all with quality wining and dining on your doorstep.

Our rates include a lovely full self-catered breakfast and all taxes.

Romantic Getaway
A beautiful villa tucked away from everyone. Beautifully appointed throughout. Really loved the breakfast and treats provided. Highly recommend “The Villino” for a weekend away from it all. Many thanks for looking after us Kim

Ideal for a quiet getaway
Weather was stunning which really made our weekend. The place was cute, loved the provisions for breakfast and the view. Spacious bedroom and a window seat in the sun. The place was a real sun trap which kept the place warm during the day too. Mandarins straight off the trees were delicious. An easy walk down the hill to the beach -naturally a little more effort required on the return. Use WaiCabs for excellent service every time we have been to the island and the best pricing. Either bring a car or plan to only visit the wineries and restaurants in Onetangi that you can walk to, otherwise cabs add up far too quickly if you are trying to get back to restaurants and wineries closer to Oneroa.

amazing view, good kitchen, spa with a view
Inspite of walls of window the setting feels private. Access to the house requires a bit of a walk up but it's worth the amazing views. Well stocked kitchen with fresh eggs and local olive oil. Used the hot tub every day

Absolute bliss!
The perfect backdrop to our 25th wedding anniversary getaway. The house was very comfortable, with everything we could have wanted. The views were amazing and the terrace overlooking them was just wonderful; a lovely place for nibbles and meals, we spent a lot of hours there! The self-catered breakfast foods were delicious and generous in size, and the owners were very approachable and informative - thank you for all your help, we had a delightful stay and definitely wish to return again soon :) Thank you very much

Breathtaking
The photos really don't do this property justice. Great space, amazing views, wonderful location situated in the center of the island and let than 30 minutes to anywhere. This is also a very well marked road and access is super easy with great privacy to the property. Thank you for a great stay

Romantic couples retreat
Perfect place for couples to relax and explore the awesome vineyards that are right at your back door. Only thing that would have made it better is if the Spanish restaurant on the neighbouring had been open, but alas they had shut for the winter. All the more reason to return. The host, Kim, was delightful too....
