This was exactly what we were looking for!!! Somewhere away from the city, out in the woods, but close enough to be able to get needed items from stores. Somewhere to get our teens unplugged and outside, and let our dogs be free! Having the acreage to let them roam off and explore; having the creek to play in, float on, even travel down stream and walk back; areas to pitch the family tent yet have a cabin to go to when the weather didn't cooperate; and the quietness (it is close to rt 50 so you do get the occasional traffic sounds, but not by the creek) made this place perfect!!! I am a "clean" person and brought cleaning stuff, but it was perfectly cleaned and sanitized, even provided cleaning products for keeping up with it! The host even provided an extra fan because of how hot it was since there is no ac. We were able to chop our own wood for campfires (2 fire pits was perfect), the grill was perfect for cooking out all our meals, and a hose outside to extinguish the fire for bedtime really helped! There were solar lights illuminating the path to the creek, even on the little shelter by the creek, and the porch of the cabin!!! We brought bug spray and bug repellant tikis, and we didn't get bit!!! Even the dogs (although we treat them monthly) didn't get a single tick!!! We didn't see any snakes (except a small nest out on our wanderings away from the cabin)!!! There is a rope swing at the creek which the kids loved!!! There were even several little spots to set up chairs!
