We stayed in the Jessica hut this past weekend.
The accommodation is accessed up a short hilly gravel track that I doubt any car would have problems with, this sets you back from the road.
The kitchen and bathroom annex are separate from the hut but not an inconceivable distance away and the car is parked immediately outside the bathroom so you don't have to lug your luggage for miles!
The bathroom is exceptionally clean, with spare cleaning products and brushes etc provided to deal with the inevitable mud. The same can be said for the kitchen which was very well stocked with utensils, a fridge and 2 gas cookers which is more than adequate!
The hut is surrounded by a small enclosed gravel yard, be aware that if you have a small dog they may well be able to wiggle out under the gate! Beyond that is a small grass track surrounding the hut and then the llama grazing. If you have a dog that will only toilet on grass make sure you take a long lead so that you can keep them under control near the livestock.
The hut was lovely, clean and warm. Surprising amount of storage if you got creative but don't overpack! The views from the hut are the llama grazing and the forest.
Take good walking shoes if you are going to tackle the forest trail!
Dee and Peter are lovely and are more than willing to help! You can tell they pay attention to detail and love the place.
The only thing to be aware of is that due to the proximity of the hut to the cheerful chickens and the lovely llamas, guests are often up and down to see them as well as (understandably) the caregivers for the animals, this does mean that there are no dashes from the hut to the bathroom/shower in your PJs as there may well be people there! The glass fronted bathroom cabin does make changing a little difficult but can be easily managed by utilising the raised bathmat and changing in the shower cubicle. If you are hoping for a few days of utter retreat where you won't see another soul this may not be the place for you.
Overall, beautiful setting and very well maintained.
