Amazing Stay
The location, views and the feel of the place was great. The property was very quiet so you can enjoy the nature setting. Everything was clean and beautiful. Highly recommend!

Great getaway from all
Brilliant glamping with your own kitchen and bathroom allocated to Jessica hut half a minute walk away. The neighbours are cute, they are 2 llamas, half a dozen chickens and an ambient cat. The hosts are very friendly and helpful too. Don't bring eggs, rather buy here from them, they are definitely free range and taste amazing.

Jessica shepherds hut
We spent a wonderful time there. The owners were really friendly and helpful. It's a simple accommodation, but has everything, what we needed. The bed was really comfortable too. We would go again.

Lovely
We stayed in the Jessica hut this past weekend. The accommodation is accessed up a short hilly gravel track that I doubt any car would have problems with, this sets you back from the road. The kitchen and bathroom annex are separate from the hut but not an inconceivable distance away and the car is parked immediately outside the bathroom so you don't have to lug your luggage for miles! The bathroom is exceptionally clean, with spare cleaning products and brushes etc provided to deal with the inevitable mud. The same can be said for the kitchen which was very well stocked with utensils, a fridge and 2 gas cookers which is more than adequate! The hut is surrounded by a small enclosed gravel yard, be aware that if you have a small dog they may well be able to wiggle out under the gate! Beyond that is a small grass track surrounding the hut and then the llama grazing. If you have a dog that will only toilet on grass make sure you take a long lead so that you can keep them under control near the livestock. The hut was lovely, clean and warm. Surprising amount of storage if you got creative but don't overpack! The views from the hut are the llama grazing and the forest. Take good walking shoes if you are going to tackle the forest trail! Dee and Peter are lovely and are more than willing to help! You can tell they pay attention to detail and love the place. The only thing to be aware of is that due to the proximity of the hut to the cheerful chickens and the lovely llamas, guests are often up and down to see them as well as (understandably) the caregivers for the animals, this does mean that there are no dashes from the hut to the bathroom/shower in your PJs as there may well be people there! The glass fronted bathroom cabin does make changing a little difficult but can be easily managed by utilising the raised bathmat and changing in the shower cubicle. If you are hoping for a few days of utter retreat where you won't see another soul this may not be the place for you. Overall, beautiful setting and very well maintained.

Amazing place!
Booked a 3night surprise stay for my boyfriends birthday. Absolutely gutted we only booked 3nights, stayed in the beautiful Jessica hut and loved the view, the llamas, geese, hens were just a lovely edition to the stunning scenery. Fresh eggs in the morning from the hens were delicious , the host was very friendly and helpful. We loved the kitchen and bathroom in the annexe that was only for us to use! Definitely recommend to stay here!

Just the peace that was needed
Perfect to get away from it all and safe for child to roam freely. Only take what you need as space limited. Warm and cosy despite weather.

Happy customer
Had an amazing 4 days with the fiancé in shepherd hut Jessica. The smiths are very welcoming, friendly and helpful people. There are excellent kitchen cooking and bathroom facilities outside your front door, hot water, refrigerator etc all your needs are catered for. The hut is very warm and cozy with fresh sheets and towels provided and an extremely comfy bed. It's also a very secluded site so very private and no one disturbs you. Beautiful location with stunning views and wildlife all around. There are free range chicken, geese and llamas roaming around also! Lovely forest and river trails just outside your door. It's a 10 minute drive from the town of Bala which has plenty of supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. And there is also a lovely cozy pub just 3 minutes down the road. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again in the future. Mount Snowdon is only an hour drive and you are situated right on the outskirt of the great Snowdonia national park so beauty is all around.

Peaceful stay in beautiful Snowdonia
My son and I spent an awesome week hiking and mountain biking in Snowdonia and our stay in one of Dee and Peter’s shepherd huts was absolutely perfect. They are wonderful hosts who were so welcoming and helpful. The shepherds hut was a snug and cosy retreat from the rain and wind, and the separate private kitchen and bathroom facilities were basic but clean and tidy. Eddie & Kubi the llamas kept us company in the next field and the chickens visited us each day to see what we were up to - eggs for breakfast anyone? Dee and Peter’s home is in a beautiful rural spot on the Eastern edge of Snowdonia National Park and was within a short drive of all our hikes and biking trips, and if you don’t feel like going anywhere there is great walking in the hills right on your doorstep - literally. We will definitely be back soon!

Beautiful rustic getaway
Peter and Dee were lovely hosts and the Jessica hut is a beautiful little spot for two people. The camp kitchen and bathroom are a tiny walk away and you are surrounded by wilderness on all sides (plus some chickens!) Excellent access to many walks in Snowdonia and the local pub serves great food at the end of a long day. The hut is quiet and secluded — the only interruption to the night’s silence was a tawny owl’s call :)

JUST WONDERFUL
We stayed here Thursday to Sunday and what a pleasure it was the cabin was spotless and everything we needed in the camping kitchen was there Peter and Dee were so lovely and he couldn't do enough for us if we asked if not they leave you to it---we were spoiled though as no other guests sharing our facilties we sat out in the evening watching the stars and obs drinking wine the local pub is bit of a treacherous walk down a winding road so we took the car parked in pub carpark and got taxi home £3.50 then got it in morning in daylight.. it'ts about 1.5miles away---good food and really welcoming some lovely walks up the hills and through the woods its defo worth a visit highly recommend and would go back and also the free range eggs were very tasty xx

Family holiday in a Welsh Shepard hut May 2017
If you want an outdoor holiday in North Wales I recommend the cosy clean Shepard huts run by Very helpful owners Peter and Dee who live on site. The clean kitchen and shower/loo are close by in a small converted barn. The adjacent small field was perfect for a camp fire. Nearest pub serving good local food and beer is 1 mile away.
