Rooms could do with some upgrade. Floors were creaking and we were disturbed by those walking above (floor creaking again) and outside the door(thin walls no sound proofing) The breakfast was good and the lady serving the breakfast was pretty attentive.

This hotel was a little gem. We had a family room and it was absolutely huge! As was the bathroom. The room and downstairs area looked recently renovated and looked great - think Lust wallpaper with a bit of Abigail Ahern. Definately recommend.

Look, I slept well, it was in a good location, some free parking and, as the desk staff inexplicably pointed out: I did get a 'very good deal' through a third party booking agency. That considered though, I'm glad to have not paid full price because it was not a 4* experience unfortunately. For cleaning: there is mold in our bathroom ceiling, the mugs had dried coffee in them, there was a spider in the window, and the light and bedhead are dusty. For maintenance: there was no privacy curtain, no mirror except the bathroom, no luggage rack, the ceiling lamp is crooked, a bedside drawer had a screw poking out, no hooks or additional towel racks (one small towel heated rack), the shower fitting wobbled dramatically and the bathroom door is water damaged. And for overall experience: staff woke us before 6am sitting outside our room to smoke and complain, the corridor smelled strongly of cigarettes and the shower basin creaked loudly with every step. Glad to be moving on.

When booking in as to order our evening meal. After sitting there waiting for 40 minutes my husband went to inquire about the meal only to be told they had forgotten us and not able to anything for us. So we had to got into town to get a takeaway which was awfully and to take it to our bedroom to eat🙄☹️

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and was great value for money. Hotel was clean, the staff were superb, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was of great quality. Hotel slap bang in the middle of the town, so great position. Nothing at all to grumble about. Whilst we had no parking problems in May, it could be difficult to park at weekends and in peak season. There is a big car park 5 min walk away.

The Manageress was extremely helpful during our stay and let us know before our stay that the refurb on the bar and restaurant wasn't quite finished yet. We decided we still wanted to come as the hotel is well placed to use the many other facilities Bala has to offer. We had a great walk up the nearby hill overlooking the lake

We booked and did have a call today the hotel was going to be having a refurbishment, not an issue at all. Although having to call a phone number left at reception wasn’t really expected. To then have a gentlemen come down that looked like he had been asleep. Shame really the room was actually pretty nice and clean. Old cupboard I felt bad opening as it had a noisy door 😂
