Walters is an idyllic beach house perched on a hill, offering north facing views and overlooking the beautiful Shelly Beach and beyond.
With the canvas of blue stretching out to the horizon in front of you, its easy to understand why this quiet cul-de-sac location was named Azure Street.
Walters is one of the original beach shacks of the area and offers delightful, authentic charm. For the namesake Walter himself, think old fashioned snorkel gear, terry towel hats, fishing off the rocks, and a seadogs tall tales told over an ice cold beer and fresh prawns wrapped in newspaper.
Walters home has been thoughtfully restored and styled to merge the laidback charm of this beachside area, but is also teamed with Byron Bay 'cool' - think MCM House furniture, as well as a new modern kitchen, with herringbone tiles.
The upper level has a large balcony, open plan living and two good sized bedrooms, which both offer ocean views from Queen beds. Sea views are present throughout the upper level - even, ahem, from the toilet. The lower level has two bedrooms (one with two singles and the other a double), and a lounge nook, ideal for curling up in with a good book. There is also a double carport.
A few minutes stroll along a footpath leads you to the lifeguard-patrolled Shelly Beach, with fantastic surf breaks, rock pools where children frolic and the Shelly Beach cafe. In fact, there are three cafes within a brief stroll of the house, as well as the chic Italian restaurant, Capiche, which overlooks Lighthouse Beach.
The scenic coastal walk and cycle path runs from North Wall to Sharpes Beach and all the way to Lennox Head. Other local activities also abound.
Walters is conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from Ballina/Byron airport. The location is a fantastic launchpad to the attractions of the northern rivers, including Lennox Head (10 mins), Byron Bay (30 mins), and the expansive hinterland.
