The hotel itself was grwat. Room was huge and clean and updated. The bathroom on the other hand, had a jetted tub, and when my wife went to use it, the jests were clogged, and when they finally were free, cleaning powder came out and filled the tub with blue cleaning solution. Management did nothing. The lounge in the hotel was nice, and the sevice was great.

The Royal Canadian was the ideal place for the two of us during our holiday. The junior suite we stayed in was amazingly spacious, the fire place was a nice touch and also helped warm us up after a day outside! All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about Banff and all its activities. The hotel's facilities were great and it was an easy 5 to 10 minute walk to get into the centre of town. Parking was no issue and the food was great too. We're looking forward to coming back next year!

Unfussy stay with all the basics. A bit dated, but they have a lovely salt water pool and hot tub. I wouldn't say this is a 4 star by international standards, but for Banff it's an above average stay. A few areas of concern, but nothing major: Amenities tray had dust on it, which means the rooms aren't being deep cleaned between stays. There were no clean towels available in the pool and only an emergency phone line (no way to contact front desk to let them know). Restaurant attached is not good, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Not sure why parking is $20/night, but plan for that and you'll be fine. Front desk staff were friendly and courteous, even when the hotel was busy.
