Ok hotel but very poor experience, which it did not have to be. So many negatives - 20 mins waiting whilst they found my 'lost' booking, even though they had already charged the money to my card days ago. Very poor wifi all through the hotel, even when in reception or standing next to wifi router, made it impossible to book taxis or do things. Lots of traffic noise in the rooms. And just VERY unhelpful staff - when i asked for local restaurants and other things they kept telling me '20 mins walk' even though stuff round corner. Could not help me get taxi when leaving. Will not stay again.

The room I got was not like the one I selected when did the booking. In the website they show a superior class room, but it is not the one you get. The washroom was ok, but found some mold on the washroom furniture. Other than that, was ok.

Yes, I would recommend this hotel for a stay. Older but well maintained - it’s a taste of classic Bangkok at a reasonable price. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Wifi wasn’t a success for me and the pool was closed during my stay but the impressive views from my room and the roof are great! Unique gym!Breakfast cafe open in the morning. Quick check-in, unique elements, good vibe will have me return. Bang Sue is the closest MRT so you’re a little further out from the city centre(s). Black out curtains are great, no weird smells but no mug or spoon use with the kettle provided. Otherwise - recommend!

On arrival at the hotel I was informed that the pool would be out of commission for at least 6 months. I booked the hotel hoping that I could use the pool in the afternoons after my trips around the city in the relative cool of the morning. Also, the in room safe was not bolted down but free standing. Unacceptable in my view. I can not recommend this hotel at all

Surprisingly pleasant
Before booking we read reviews and prepared ourselves for an old run down hotel - that was according to most reviews. But it really wasn’t bad. Clean everything and proper room service daily. The clerk at the desk was a love/hate kind of “Hausmutter”, one minute she was smiling over her glasses and laughing with everyone and the next arms was in the air and sighing about absolutely everything. Take it with a smile like everything else in Thailand. One mayor annoyance was that our whole window was covered with a poster hanging from the building making it like looking through a bus window with advertisement on the other side. Hotel is close to Chatuchak and Ari, not bad.
