I talked to the staff to my booking to arrive two days later, and they said they’d contact Expedia to take care of it on my behalf. They then charged me for those nights, and informed me that I would have had to contact Expedia myself, and that they could not do anything themselves. I did then write to Expedia, and they requested the hotel reimburse the canceled nights. The hotel then refused Expedias request to reimburse. I have written evidence of this in hotel computer records. I found out from one of the staff that the Marriot charges local staff personally from their salaries for these kinds of chargebacks, and that is why they fight so hard against customers. Especially since $200 is a large amount for a local Thai salary. Very exploitative labor practices, and disconcerting to find out that this may be happening on a global scale.

Great location, but out of all the hotels I have stayed at in the past when I visited Bangkok, this one had the best service! The staff were extremely professional, and the navigators at the hotel assisted me in arranging two very timely airport transfers (Had a few options for vehicles and we selected the S Class which was very clean and clearly well-maintained). The hotel was a stone's throw away from Erawan Shrine and centralwOrld. Even though we called Grab for most of our outings, the Chit Lom BTS station was right outside the hotel. The door to the toilet (room 1423) cannot be closed smoothly as it is tight. Need to force close it. The electrical outlet inside the toilet was exposed one time but the technician came to rectify on the same day
