I loved the large room! the property was very clean and updated and the breakfasts were out of this world. My only complaint was that there wasn't an elevator to carry our suitcases to the second floor.

It was our first time staying here and it was great. The place has lots of character and they served a unique breakfast each morning. Additionally, the location was great, situated near Acadia National Park and the harbor so we were close to shops and restaurants. My only suggestion would be to add outdoor seating/tables, but other than that we were satisfied and had a great time visiting Maine! We would definitely stay here again!

The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Our room had a strange odor, we did not say anything, and the last step, coming down the stairway should be identified. I almost missed the step.

We got to stay here for the Monday evening after re-opening on Saturday 5/25/2025. The renovations are absolutely gorgeous, and staff is friendly! Even though we got in early they were nice enough to accommodate us with an upgrade! I would absolutely go back, food was delicious and everyone was kind. 10/10 would recommend

Anticipating a lovely place
The hotel is new, and the staff are getting oriented to the space. There wasn't any soap for the bathroom (got a bar from a shop, since no staff was on site at night). Lovely rooms and very comfortable bed. The shower water wouldn't get warm but the sink water did. I'm sure they'll smooth out the edges.

So happy to be there as the property reopened for the summer. The renovations are beautiful. Everything is new and the staff are excited and eager to make sure every guest is well cared for. Delicious cookies in the afternoon and breakfast too!

The building had a major renovation back in the early 1990s to my understanding and from my perspective nothing has been done since. I’m sure they’ve made minor repairs but everything seemed worn out and tired. It just didn’t feel clean. In addition the host owner was very rude and condescending. They have been doing this since 2003 they said which is impressive but you could tell, in my opinion, that they were long done with it. If you want friendly upbeat and kind I would not come here. I love Bar Harbor and Acadia and I have visited many times. This time I didn’t make a reservation in time and the result was a disappointing experience with the hotel but, not with visiting the park and city. The weather was beautiful and made up for the hotel experience

SO many places to stay in Bar Harbor and should have booked elsewhere. The value for the cost was extremely disappointing. Old towels, not very clean, hard mattress, satellite TV didn't work. EVERY wine glass on the tray in the common sitting area was filthy dirty. Much upkeep/maintenance is needed at this historical manor. The only positive was the breakfast and the location.
