LANGUAGE 'CURRENCY' SHIFT
The language of use in Costa Rica is Spanish, and English is spoken in "some" tourist establishments. As in Quebec, the TICOS and TICAS (Costa Ricans) appreciate the respect you give them by speaking their language, and they will do their hands and feet to help you. Feel free to be without embarrassment ... we can not learn without making mistakes!
The Mint of use in the country is the colones. The best way to get them at lower cost is with your debit card in an automated teller machine. A quick but approximate landmark: 1,000. Colones = $ 2 us. So for a quick trick, make abstractions of the three zeros, and multiply by 2. therefore: 1 (000) X 2 = $ 2 20 (000) = $ 40
Time difference: during the summer in Qc, it is 2h earlier in Costa Rica (Winter is 1h).
In France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain - 8h in summer / - 7 hours in winter
