This is a charming hotel in a convient walking location to restaurants and the lake. The beds are only ok and the TV was limited but the showers were hot and the balcony had a lovely view.

A hotel that fails to realise its potential
The hotel is newly built and well located within easy reach of the town's facilities and offers free on-site parking (but beware the garage parking is an extra €5/day). Room was 'fair' but decor and lighting is dull and bed comfort was not great, plus bathmat had hairs on it from a previous guest. Biggest disappointment was the breakfast - tables are pre-allocated to numbered rooms (so no choice of where you sit) and the buffet food is left open to the air, such that flies could (and did!) crawl across the cheese, meat etc! With a little more attention to detail, this could be a much better hotel than it is at present - and justify a marginally higher tariff.

We arrived early, our room was ready so we were able to check in early..which we really appreciated. Rooms felt like they could be updated a little, but were clean and pleasant. Staff were friendly.

Great hotel-convenient yet quiet area of Baveno
This was a comfortable, quiet hotel located in a convenient position, close too all Baveno's shops, restauarants and lake front. The room-a superior room with terrace and lake views-was on the 4th floor. It had a lovely view an was clean and comfortable. The air con was efficient and the room was immaculately clean. The bed was cofortable and shower was good. Breakfast was cold items, continetal style-plentiful and filling. The pool was small but clean, with a jacuzzi jet.Pool loungers were sturdy and comfortable. Bar prices were cheap. Parking was free and safe. Staff were delightful. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect relaxing family run hotel
First time at Hotel Azalea. Location was perfect, top floor, beautiful patio/balcony with an amazing view of Lake Maggiore. Room was very spacious as was the room my daughters were staying in. The hotel is situated in a very quiet location, a quaint typically Italian narrow street, but within easy reach of the lake front & all the amenities - bus, ferry, train...Breakfast was your typical cold meats, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, tea & coffee etc and plenty to set you up for the day ahead. Would recommend & would return.

Walked to the tour boats after breakfast and spent the day touring the palaces and gardens of Isola Bella and Isola Madre. finished with a late lunch on Isola Pesacatore.

A nice spot
The hotel is well-located and is within a block of Lake Maggiore and the tour boats to Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Stresa. Baveno is less trendy than Stresa, a little more blue-collar. It has a nice variety of restaurants and shops. I was a bit surprised to find that the hotel charged for parking and didn't have a member of the staff who was fluent in English.

Good Hotel but nothing special
Location of hotel was excellent,room spacious & very clean however the towels were of very poor quality. Breakfast was also dissapointing,you had an allocated table & bread rolls were in a basket on your table, tinned fruit salad rather than fresh. Overall a resonable hotel but nothing to make it stand out

A superior room on the fourth floor gave excellent views. The railway line is quite close but I'd still rate this a a quiet location. Parking is extremely secure, and the room was clean and well appointed. The manager accommodated our early arrival. He wasn't particularly warm and friendly but so what ?

Nice hotel shame about the management
If you read the bad reviews you will notice the attitude of the owner features often. Did not welcome delayed guests..... "Got get up at 6am for breakfast." Yes he stand hawklike over the buffet making sure that you don't take too much...and when he leaves someone else takes over guarding. We asked for another wi fi code and we're told that you could have one device per room.... Mean. ....Terrible atmosphere in the breakfast, with allocated tables squashed together, like school dinners.... There are lots of other hotels

Quality accommodation at reasonable price
Good location with free car park. Friendly helpful manager and staff. Good bed, linen and furniture in room. Excellent bathroom.Good soundproofing and quiet ac. Minor problems: no blankets in room (heavy rain cooled room quickly overnight) and no access from outside car park level to reception or rooms. Car park up a steep slope.Suggest using underground parking if there is a mobility problem.Top floor rooms all recently refurbished to a high standard. Rooms 401-3 best views, 404 and 405 have restricted lake view when seated on terrace. Excellent quality breakfast. Inconsiderate smokers defied non smoking rules in rooms which carried over to our room.Some train noise. Access hotel from lake via Monte Grappa as GPS takes you into wrong one way system.

The hotel is well located, with friendly staff.
I had a most enjoyable stay at the Azalea Hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Baveno and is close to public transport, shops, restaurants and tourist attractiions. There are great views of Lake Maggiore from some rooms and from the upper level balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend a stay in this hotel.

Ideal base for business or leisure
A friendly welcome, and a spacious room with all essential facilities Excellent parking in open or underground but underground recommended for less mobile. Excellent quality furniture and linen in recently added top floor rooms. High quality good selection of items for breakfast. Manager very helpful with local information. Good WiFi in room. Everywhere was spotless. Room 401 best for lake view.Only negatives: noise of trains if you want to sleep with windows open, and room 405 has a very restricted view of the lake when sitting down. Also there were no blankets in the room when it turned cold in the night in stormy weather. We do not like using central heating. Only CNN and BBC channels in English.Slope up to the car park is very steep. There is also a slope down go the lake. For access you need to enter from the lakeside up Monte Grappa and turn left after church by Elvezia Hotel. Hotel needs to enforce non smoking in rooms as many guests were ignoring this which meant we often had cigarette smell and other substances coming into our room. Manager is too nice to inconsiderate guests.

Great family hotel in Stresa area
A very nice family run hotel. Very clean, the family is very nice , friendly and helpful. The roon in the second floor was clean and comfortable and had a great view from the balcony. Good breakfast. Free parking and free wifi available in the room. 2 minute walk to the boats to Isola Bella and Isola Madre, lots of restaurants in the area. It was so nice that we stayed for an extra night. Hope to come back soon.
