Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
We were so confused by this hotel! It is a beautiful property, with so much history. The staff were so friendly and the bar and restaurant were top notch. Everything we got from Cora's was excellent. The third floor terrace was beautiful, as was the pool area and the grounds
My poor rating is purely from the condition and quality of the rooms. My mom, my 18 month old son and I shared a room with two queen beds. It was clearly a handicap "accessible room" but it felt so bare and lacked any amenities. There was no table to sit at so when we ordered room service, we were stuck balancing on the beds. We also found out too late that there were no refrigerators or microwaves in any of the rooms, which was a nightmare trying to keep my kiddos milk and perishables safe. The blinds were not fitted well and let in a considerable amount of light (also hard with a toddler!)
There were so many little things about the rooms and amenities that just kept adding up that it really distracted from the beauty of the property and the public spaces. Things like no sources of water beyond purchasing 20 oz bottles from the vending machine or getting it from the sink taps, the outlets in our room were clearly not anchored onto a stud, and the sad state of the outdoor furniture.
I really wanted to love this place, and we mostly did, and maybe next time we stay some of these items will be addressed.
