Lovely old building with the creaky stairs that we love! Quirkiness was fab with lots of antiques throughout. Stayed for 2 nights in room 2, only slight issue was water pressure was very low. Didnt spoil our stay in any way.

Warm, Welcoming, comfy and cheap!
We stayed at Barons Court while visiting Crufts over the weekend. The cheap price and relatively short drive away from the arena were the selling points for us. Barons court is such a quaint hotel based in a very old building which we thought just adds character. The chap on reception was polite and friendly and check in was easy, he then showed us to our room. Room 4 which was a lovely twin room which was small but big enough for us! With a huge bathroom, and a nice well working warm shower. The corridors around the hotel are decorated with some beautiful antiques which again just adds character to the place. Beds were comfortable however if i was being picky an extra pillow would have been nice, however we probably could have asked for this. The room was never cold either. There is no breakfast facilities but this isn’t advertised as a B&B and no breakfast wasn’t an issue for us. There is however a nice communal area with tables etc which you are encouraged to bring your own food and use these facilities. Our keycard didn’t work to let us back in on our second night but this was quickly rectified. The hotel and rooms are “tired” but with this being a old building, this is unavoidable, and refurbishing them too much would take away its character. If i was to be super picky the only improvement i would suggest would be for the receptionist to have a branded polo or similar? Apart from that is you want a warm, comfy stay for a very affordable price, this is the place to go!

Pleasant staff, clean linen and towels hotel very dated. Curtains hanging off the runners and plaster hanging from the ceiling. It did us for a one night stay but should of paid more and got a more modern hotel .

Very disappointing, the young man who opened the reception door in a hoodie with the hood up, took us to a dimly lit desk in an alcove - reception. The floors were dirty with paint shavings. He did say work was being done? dust sheets and hoovers were not evident. Generally dingy. Bathroom door did not close, paint fingerprints on bathroom door, towels were discoloured and frayed, radiator in bathroom is loose. There was no member of staff to discuss our concerns with. A once beautiful building in need of good management.

Disappointing
Not great. Pictures very misleading. I understand a cheaper room will be a bit more basic. But it should at least be clean. the bathroom was filthy and had a mould issue. The room had a VERY overwhelming damp smell. The curtains didn't fit the window so you couldn't close them properly. when I checked out I was barely acknowledged, the man didn't even look up from his laptop. I would add photos but this feature is apparently disabled.

When I looked at this guesthouse or hotel, as you say it is, it looked lovely on the website, there was this scruffy looking guy at reception, but he was very polite, The place was a very quirky little place, which seems quite nice, but very dated, we then reached our bedroom number 10 bathroom was okay two bottles of water left for us, bedlinen had stains on it curtains when we drew them they were covered in dust, there was cobwebs all over the ceiling, took five hours to drive from Southampton to Wolverhampton in bad weather and traffic. We weren’t very happy when we got there and what we saw, we spoke to 2 gentlemen were staying there that evening. They said they were given room 10 on the Monday and now it’s Thursday ,They weren’t happy with it so they asked to Change rooms, they even said there were cobwebs in the bedroom and an old rocking chair which is not appropriate in the bedroom as it’s a little bit scary. Didn’t really check the bathroom for cleanliness, and it did mention that we could get breakfast as well which they didn’t do any catering, I just asked if he could change our room, he said no because they were fully booked, he offered me a refund and we were going to stay there but I’m sorry we just could not stay in that room. It wasn’t clean at all so we had to go and find another room which we did in the Nova hotel.. so yes, I would like a refund please and I will be putting a comment on the website Not a happy customer, Shirley

Lovely quirky hotel, with so much individuality, which was a nice change for those wanting something different from the big chain hotels. Whilst no bar or restaurant on site, there's no problem ordering in or taking your own. Staff very friendly and accommodating, easy parking, and Uber in/out of the city centre was less than £7 each way and about a 10 minute ride. Would definitely use again if in the area.

When i arrived i pressed the door bell as sign says and stood for a little while it appeared nkt to have worked. Check in was quick and easy having paid online. Shown up to bedroom ...small room but comfy bed and everything i needed for 2 night stay. Head board tappy and in need of replacing but thwy appeared to be doing the orders for that as i arrived Bathroom shoeer was nice an d warm (slight low pressure if you have thick hair like i do) and some mould on grout but other than that again everything needed. The decore is old fashioned and there are some odd decoration arouns the place BUT i think it adds to the feel of the llace not just being white washed and plain. Nice guest lounge area also ehich my friend and i ate in one evening. Overall wiuld return. Easy parking in car park little geeen area with seats. Close to city . Relatively quiet building ..some sound from outside heard from road but expected. Thank you and will defo book here again if im back in area.

This claims to be a three star hotel. Can only be on a scale of 1 to 10! Entrance is at rear, by the smoking area. Met in ‘reception’ by guy wearing casual clothes and baseball cap. On back of bedroom door was notice saying ‘breakfast 7-9am. We went down next morning at 8:30 but looked in vain around the ground floor for any sign of breakfast. We roused the baseball hat guy from his room by ringing the front door bell. He was astonished that we were expecting breakfast. We left immediately to find somewhere more civilised.
