The Cabana is a short walk to the beach and a 10-minute drive to the US/Canadian border. The location is convenient for everything the area has to offer. The space is simple, clean, and modern with amenities selected for your convenience. The unit features an HDTV, electric fireplace, Keurig coffee maker microwave, and air conditioning.

While the Cabana does not have a washroom ensuite a full bathroom is just steps away in the main house.

Spectacular views of the Bay, San Juan's & Vancouver Island are waiting for you on the back patio and the world-famous "C" Shoppe is a short walk away. Close to everything Birch Bay offers yet quiet, private, and secluded. A peekaboo view of the bay is available from inside the unit

The well-maintained grounds of the property are open to guests. You may use the back patio where there is a grill and fire pit. Sunsets and stargazing on the patio can't be beat.

We offer free bicycle rentals while staying with us. We also offer kayak rentals which are just $25/kayak per day including all your paddling gear and free drop off/pick up beachside. There's no better way to experience the bay than on the water and we make it super simple. All you need to do is show up and have fun.

This is not a luxury resort with a long list of high-end amenities. It is a clean, comfortable, budget-friendly space with the essential features one needs to have a pleasant place to stay and enjoy the area. The space is small but well-designed with plenty of natural light and a comfortable top-of-the-line memory foam bed. Perfect for two people and cozy if you wish to bring an infant.

**PLEASE NOTE: While we do not charge housekeeping fees there is a $35/stay for pets (there are no additional charges for ADA-registered service animals per federal law). We arrived around 9pm and immediately had problems. We realized the bathroom was in the main house, which was not clear in the listing, and we would not have booked, being two girls. The door to the room is unlocked by a key code, with no deadbolt inside, meaning anyone with the code could walk in at any point. We had issues with the heater not working, and needing extra towels so we messaged the host as listed. The host claims they are reachable until 11pm but there was no response. We didn’t mind since it was close to 10pm, but there was no response in the morning. Another issue arose when we went to shower in the morning. We went in together for safety, but one of us went back to the room to grab something. As the door was shut, with the shower running as someone was showing, the door opened, then quickly closed. It was not one of us who opened the door, but someone else in the house. The host lists that no one uses that bathroom anyway. The door was SHUT with the shower running and the host clearly opened the door and said nothing. During this, there was still no response to previous messages. Next, we received a message regarding there being liquid in the drive way, assuming that it was a bunch of oil. The host suggested parking on cardboard or not in the driveway at all. There was no liquid on the driveway when we arrived. But there was still no response to previous messages. If you are looking to stay here, as two females, don’t.

Nice little property
Clean and cute building next to main home. Felt very cozy, could walk down to the main part of town though it was a bit of a walk. Generally quiet though some noise from the main home woke us up in the evening.

Escape to a Cabana
John's cabana was just perfect. The location is well-situated to the beach, shopping, and food. The views are amazing from this location. The unit was clean and had everything I needed. I would only add some birch to the seashells. 😉 John is a very hospitable host and very kind. He gave great suggestions for places to eat that did not disappoint. I would stay here again if I am ever up this way! Thank you, John!!

I have never had such an awful experience as I did with this property, and I will never book through VRBO again now that I have experienced what passes for customer support with them. The listing does not make clear that there is NO bathroom, or even a sink, in the guest room. The room could actually be described as more of a shed, and certainly not a "cabana." The bathroom is in the main house next to the shed. The host (John) sent a message through VRBO with the code to get into the main house, but none of my attempts to use it when I arrived were successful, so I had no access to the bathroom. I got to the property at 9:30pm, and when I couldn't get into the house, I attempted to contact John first through VRBO messaging, then by texting his direct number, then by calling his direct number, and then by ringing the doorbell on the main house. I received no response that evening. In the morning I knocked on the door and was let in by some person who wasn't the host, and when I explained that the code wasn't working, she said she had trouble with it the previous night as well. After twelve hours had passed with no response whatsoever from John, I contacted VRBO customer support. They did absolutely nothing to help me. I am shocked and infuriated at the treatment I received from both the host and VRBO. They clearly have no interest in seeking accountability from the people who list on their platform.

Everything was nice. The bed was very comfortable and room was supplied with everything as listed. It was a little inconvenient to leave the room to go to the main house to use bathroom but it was close to the front door. The bathroom was ok for cleanliness and maybe because it was shared with those in the main house. There was a small amount of ants by the microwave and could be because of open sugar in the drawer below microwave. Otherwise overall it was quiet and comfortable, what I was looking for

This property is very misrepresented. There is no water at all in the place. The bathroom is shared with the male homeowner. His dog is "grumpy", his words. And after investigating more reviews has actually bit a guest twice. There are no views like it says. DO NOT stay here.
