Fully renovated in winter 2022. Heron House has waterfront access to the Blanco River. Riverside firepit, a great outdoor deck with a cowboy pool, hot tub, chaise lounges, a shaded lounge area, outdoor games, luxurious linens, and spa-like bathrooms. Relaxation and Texas Hill Country charm. A short 5-minute drive to Blanco's downtown square, Heron House is also conveniently located, with easy access to all the shopping, dining, wineries/breweries/distilleries, and events that lovely Blanco has to offer. Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Wimberley, and Dripping Springs are nearby as is Blanco State Park, Pedernales Falls State Park, and the Hill Country Lavender Farm.

Great Find in Hill Country!
House was beautiful and very private! Great patio with shaded couches, lounge chairs, dining table, BBQ grill, plunge pool, hot tub, and gas fire pit. Large turf area for outdoor games! River runs through the back yard! House was excellent and everyone enjoyed their stay. Beds were very comfortable as well!

It’s a very nice and clean house. It’s very easy to communicate with the owner if you have any questions. The way to the second fire pit by the river has a walkway so you’re not walking through the grass which is really nice. Would recommend staying here!

A Perfect Slice of Paradise – We Didn't Want to Leave!

The privacy and the view from the back deck is just so relaxing! The hot tub and fire pit allow you to enjoy the cooler weather outside! The house is clean and very nice! The location is great for the local wineries and distilleries!

Bridal Shower Bliss
Some friends and I hosted a small bridal shower here and it was beautiful!! Exactly like the photos! The only things that were kind of a bother were that guest toilet was broken and that there a bunch of bugs that would fly in any time you opened the door. The host offered to come fix the toilet, however since it was in the middle of the bridal shower we just left it be. Otherwise, it was beautiful! Highly recommend!

The house, accommodations and grounds were as advertised. We really enjoyed the evenings on the deck grilling steaks, listening to music and enjoying a beverage. The lighting bug show on the grounds at sundown was an unexpected wonderful addition.

Wonderful spot on the river (stream?)
We came with some of our family to visit the cemetery and gravesides of our loved ones gone on before us. The added joy of staying at Herron House that was similar to my parents home when we lived there was very special. We had everything the 6 of us needed to cook and enjoyed the deck and jacuzzi. My husband, son and grandson enjoyed evening talks down close to the river. Thanks so much for sharing Heron House with us!

The Heron House was absolutely perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable, beautiful, and the owners thought of every little thing one might need while traveling. The fixtures and decor were very high end, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kids enjoyed the cowboy pool and all the lawn games (axe throwing and corn hole). We enjoyed watching a family of deer walking by the river in the mornings and in the evenings, and at night the stars are bright and lightning bugs can be seen in the woods. The drive into town is a short 5 minutes, but our favorite cafe was a little further out on hwy 165 (Rio Blanco Cafe, right next to Tillman Resort). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Blanco and look forward to returning to the Hill Country soon.

Tranquil getaway
This was our second time to stayed at the Heron House in Blanco and it did not disappoint. Even with what seemed like non-stop rain the property is beautiful and comfortable. We still enjoyed the view of the river sitting at the table. We were able to relax in a clean well appointed home. The location makes it easy to take day trip excursions easily like shopping in Wimberly and Fredericksburg . The property owners responded to any questions or concerns quickly. Looking forward to another hideaway getaway.

Beautiful home outside downtown Blanco
The house is beautiful! The beds are very soft with thick foam mattress toppers, the water pressure is good, and the hot water very hot. The view of the river is nice, the yard was a bit overgrown with no path to the water so we did get some chigger bites and sticker burrs on our walk down to the river. The river was a bit stagnant and algae-ridden where we had access to so we did not get in the river. The cowboy pool on the back deck was nice in the evenings for sunset. The kitchen was big and had most of what we needed to make dinner and breakfasts. We loved the record player and selection of records at the home!

Perfect getaway
We stayed in Blanco for my daughters wedding. We needed a place large enough to hold all her flowers and in a peaceful area to relax before the craziness. It was the perfect place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms had very thoughtful touches throughout. The home is very well thought out and comfortable and has all the required utensils/pots/coffee etc. The outside area was fantastic. We very much enjoyed using the cowboy pool, and we enjoyed being able to play corn hole whilst having a BBQ on the deck with a beautiful/private view. We were 3 adults, a child, and a fur child and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was the first time I have been at a vacation rental that I honestly didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Paul could not have been a more perfect host, in touch along the way. House was exactly as described, very comfortable and inviting. Great location to be able to explore in different directions. Well appointed kitchen with a beautiful view of the creek where deer traveled every morning and evening. Large patio with cozy fire pit for 6. Definitely recommend and will check availability the next time we're in the area.

We enjoyed our stay in Blanco. Great location! I had a wedding to attend in Dripping Springs and it was a short drive to the venue. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool and the outside green area.

Nice time in Blanco
We used this property as a staring point to go to the state parks in the area. For proximity to the parks, it is great. As for the property itself, it was like staying at a new house as they did a great job with the remodel. Very well decorated and clean. Outdoor space was great, and there some outdoor games the kids enjoyed. It is just off a busy road, but I only noticed run the morning - and if that is a bother the are white noise machines provided. It does sit on the river - but depending on time of year, the river may not be flowing - so if that is important to you I would check before booking. There are good fishing spots 5 minutes away, and at Blanco state park. Enjoyed it and would stay again!!
